LAKE BUTLER, Fla. - Multiple people are dead or wounded after a shooting spree in north Florida on Saturday.

According to a spokesperson with the Union County Sheriff's Office, the sheriff was not available to speak as he was involved in a "major incident."

Gainesville ABC affiliate WCJB reports three people are dead, including the gunman, and at least two others are injured after going on a shooting spree that began at a trucking company near Lake Butler.

Union County Sheriff Jerry Whitehead told WCJB that the gunman walked into the trucking company where he used to work and shot a man. The victim has been hospitalized in critical condition at a Gainesville hospital.

The gunman, identified by officials to WCJB and other north Florida media outlets as the step-grandfather of Buffalo Bills running back CJ Spiller, went to the trucking company owner's ranch and opened fire, killing the owner and a farmhand.

Another person was wounded at some point and is in critical condition at the same Gainesville hospital.

The gunman returned to his home and reportedly killed himself. Investigators from multiple agencies are working multiple crime scene and to determine a motive for the shooting.

Man goes and killing spree and then kills himself.

1. If some of the victims had been armed they would still be alive

2. The man obliviously suffered from Mental illness. Anybody that would kill themselves is mentally ill.

Are you trying to promote mental health awareness or encouraging law abiding citizens to carry ?

Mental health awareness? Cute

1. If the assailant had not been armed, all would be alive.

Always mental health issues.

The victim blaming is nice touch, though.

He would have used a bat, hands, or feet if he didn't have a gun.

It's a sick country where someone gets killed and the first response is to blame the victim for not having a gun.
