I am asking this question for my friend, who is us citizen and he applied for his married daughter and her family from paksitan few years back. they recently got a letter stating that their interview will be coming shortly and they need to provide 864 forms. the daughter and her husband has 2 kids(4-6 year old), so total of 4 people. My frined income is very less around (20k) and he already has kids and family here so he cant sponser all 4 of them. He asked few friends but all of us don't make enough or have too many dependents etc. We were wondering if there is any other way around sponsorship, like showing a bank account with money or using a business as asset etc. If 3 or 4 of us got toghter we might be able to come up with enough income to sponser all 4 of them, but then would we need everyone , pay stubs, 3 years tax returns etc, because that would be a big file. So the main question is, is there any way around the sponsorship requirement?

thanks to all

nope,

the i864 is required, he needs to prove that his family won't be a public charge to the government. no sponsor, no GC. period.

there Is a maximum of 2 joint sponsors, and the family can be divided, such as one joint sponsor can cover 2 of them and the other joint sponsor cover the other 2.

There is no way around the I-864 requirements.

Your friend can have a maximum of 2 Joint Sponsors. The 2 Joint Sponsors can divide the family of 4 up between themselves, so each is only sponsoring 1,2, or 3 members.

Assets can be used. They must be at least 5X the difference between the 125% poverty line and their incomes.

BE VERY CAREFUL. THE US EMBASSY IS WELL AWARE OF MONEY SUDDENLY SHOWING UP IN A JOINT SPONSOR'S BANK ACCOUNT. DO NOT GET DENIED FOR FRAUD.

The assets must really belong to the Joint Sponsor. DO NOT TRY TO CONTRIBUTE MONEY FROM DIFFERENT PEOPLE INTO THE JOINT SPONSOR'S ACCOUNT. THIS IS A LOAN OR TEMPORARY PARKING OF MONEY WHICH ARE TO BE RETURNED WHEN THE GREEN CARD ISSUES. THE US IS WELL AWARE OF THIS FRAUD AND COULD DENY THE CASE.

Your friend has to find a Joint Sponsor who meets the financial requirements, there are no way around this.
