Hi Everyone, I (the petitioner in the US) just got the Affidavit of support Fee Bill and included in the package was a DS-3032 Choice of Agent form. Should Marie(my wife the applicant in Philippines) make me her choice of Agent or choose the second option and have the mail from the Dept. of State sent to her in the Philippines. What do people normally do? Hoping someone will help me here. Im sure you all know how much I want to get this paperwork filed. Thankyou- Gary

Your wife can choose either. It may be prudent for your wife to make you the Choice of Agent, this is becuase if they send the mail directly to her it will probably take longer and may possibly get lost.

What you could do is get your wife to make you the choice of agent, as you are in the US the post should get to you faster, once you recieve the forms UPS or FEDEX them to your wife, this should speed up the process slightly and there is less chance of your paper work being lost.

By the way,.. although you got the Choice of agent form, your wife will have also been sent one...

Your wife can make you her choice of agent which would save time in domestic mailing in USA as opposed to international mailing. She can even email the NVC and ask them to appoint you as her choice of agent which will even save some time plus the mailing cost to USA for her. She can email at: NVCINQUIRY@state.gov and provide her name, date of birth, your name, date of birth, and your complete mailing address and she will also need to provide the case number on the subject line. She can also copy you the same email. NVC will reply the acceptance of choice of agent within 2-10 days.

What happens if the beneficiary does not have an email address? Can they still email the NVC via the USC email address but sign it w/her name? A question I always wanted to know.

Gary,

If your asawa is in the provinces you'll definitely want to do the email Choice of Agent. Our Choice of Agent form was mailed to her in early Oct and she still has not received it.

By all means absolutely use the Shortcuts!!!

Anna,

Regarding the email address of the beneficiary, I have been told that although I could have logged into her email account from the US and sent the Choice of Agent myself, somehow it could be traced to originating at my PC in the USA and it would not be accepted, but I'm not completely sure of this. My spouse used an email I sent her as a guide and then she sent a cut/paste version of it to the NVC. She had no experience with cut and pasting in Yahoo, so this was quite an adventure for us!!

Good luck.

Thanks Guys-some great info and very much appreciated. We will have myself be my wifes Choice of Agent. I was kinda thinkin that would be the thing to do but wanted to make sure. The idea of having Marie email the NVC is a excellent idea but a question to go along with it. If Marie emails them and request that I be her choice of agent does she still need to send them her copy of the DS-3032 form? Thanks Again everyone and God Bless- Gary

IF your wife emails NVC regarding choice of agent, she does not need to send the DS 3032 form to NVC. THe email will take care of this issue.
