I know lots about AP, even give advice about it.

But that's not the point.

My only point here, is that given the OP's exact circumstances, this is NOT the type of AP that occurs after an interview and there IS NO 221G involvement .

I stepped in, cause there's some un-necessary blethering going on here...

Sure, it's rare that someone chasing CR-1/2, IR-1/2/5 sticks with paperfile processing during the last 2 years, and folk forget about that China Customs Warehouse and why casefiles are stored there, but that's not the point.

The AP you fellas are going on about has NOTHING to do with the AP the OP is undergoing at the moment.

I realized ( the bolded ) after your initial comment and therefore I said that you and the other poster had the best take on what was happening

hours ago.

I am not so sure you would have walked away nowish without clarifying had someone misquoted what you said.

I believe I am within TOS by clarifying why I said what I said being jumped on by a poster. Clarification is always a good thing in my opinion.

My best guess, from you reading stuff at ceac.state.gov :

Since this is a paper casefile headed to Guangzhou -

the casefile actually :

1. arrived in the GUZ IV unit from the Chinese Customs Warehouse, after sitting a bit (per treaty) and

2. casefile was actually opened, and logged into the system.

So, this is actually a good sign. However, I suggest you call DoS Hotline on Monday (Note I have suggested this often, to you) and find out the actual casefile status.

If, indeed, the casefile has been opened, then expect a P4 soon, sent out via postal mail to your parent.

I'm betting this is exactly 'what it is', as you have a NVC LEFT date of 2013-05-29, and is possible yer on the 'early edge' for getting the casefile out of that stupid China Customs Warehouse.

Seriously, call DoS Hotline on Monday, when they are opened. Report back, when yer able.

Darnell, I think you are right. I actually found out the NVC tracking number from DHL. It has been sitting in Chinese Custom for about 2 months. I am going to call DOS at 8:30 am and will let you keep you posted.

Case status just went from AP to Issued. About DAMM TIME! Still don't think she's going to make her flight here on 9/1 but at least it's a step in the right direction.

I never would of thought a flight booked almost a month in advance wouldn't be long enough.

Awesome! Congratulations!

Ours took about 4-5 business days after being "issued" to arrive. We had it delivered to the Citic location closest to the new consulate.

Ours went like this:

Interview August 12th

Issued August 15th

On August 19th status was"Passport has been received from the consular section, and is currently being processed for delivery"

August 20 or 21, it went to "Ready for pickup" really quickly.

If it says ready for pickup, just go to the bank and get it!
