What happens after the K1 visa petition is approved? (getting the NAO2)

Hi,

so i am waiting for the approval after sending in the rfe for intent to marry. they received it 2 days ago. I was wondering, what happens after i get an approval letter? How long does it take for us to get a letter about an interview? Where is the letter sent?

We got our approval letter June 26th (or around that time). So far, I've only gotten a letter from the NVC (about 2.5 weeks ago) saying they received the approved petition and have forwarded it on to the embassy. The letter did not give us a time frame, just said that he (my fiance) would receive instructions in the mail. It's now nearly the end of August and we are still waiting. From what I believe will happen, once he gets his instructions and is able to complete the checklist they give him, the embassy will then schedule him for an interview. Definitely a long wait.
