Over 7 months! i485

Hi everyone. So my situation is I am adopted by American citizens (by naturalization...lived here for over 20 years). I am now 17 about to be 18 very soon. My lawyer filed an i485 I believe in December 2012..or very early January 2013.

I got my EAD card in March and took my Biometrics in January. So now I'm awaiting an interview and such for a green card...

When checking my case status for my i485 it says this

Request for Evidence Response Review

On February 1, 2013, we received your response to our request for evidence. This case is being processed at our NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER location "

Ok so on Frebuary 1st they received my request for evidence (my lawyer handled that, he's doing everything really). So it's now August 23rd, it's about 7 months or so..a little over..and I haven't received a letter or anything yet. It's been way over 60 days and nothing. I called them about 3 times...the first time they said they don't have all my paperwork together and they need to get everything together so an officer can sign off on it. Next time I called (well my dad who is the petitioner) they said the'll send us a letter in 15 to 30 days....after 30 days NOTHING...we called again today and they said they'll send another letter within 15 days since the first letter was never sent.

It's about to be EIGHT (8) months and I'm getting so frustrated...any help? It's being processed at the national benefits center? What's the average waiting time? Will I even get my Green Card this year? Because I'm trying to join the military.
