I was approved by email on 27 November 2006. A week later I got the hard copy N0A2 in the mail. My N0A2 says, "The above petition has been approved and forwarded to the listed consulate. Please contact the consulate with any questions about the visa issuance or if you would like them to forward the petition to a different consulate." Has anyone else gotten an N0A2 like this that says your petition was sent to the consulate, or do all of your N0A2's say they were sent to the NVC? Does this mean my petition has gone directly to the consulate and bypassed the NVC? Thanks for any responses... because based on what I've read here on VJ, it seems most petitions leave CSC and go to the NVC, right?:unsure:

yes they go to nvc for k-1 so i wonder why they put that!! can you try calling the nvc yourself?

Thanks for your response. Yes, I can call the NVC myself and have. They don't have any receipt of my petition in their system yet. I was just asking my question to find out if anyone else had gotten an N0A2 that said something similiar to mine. A couple of people have already told me that their N0A2's said that their petition was going to the NVC and gave guidance to that effect. Mine did not. Thus my question about it.

Hey,

My NOA2 said the same thing as yours, that (for us) it was being sent to the Vancouver consulate.

Do you know if it really did go straight to the consulate?

My NOA2 says exactly that, except it was filed at VSC, "forwarded to the listed consulate". But whats annoying is that they did not list a consulate! I too called NVC but they have no record. Then the Customer Service Center "does not have that information", what kind of outfit is this anyway. I am planning on emailing the consulate next week to verify they received it.

It took a few weeks, but the Vancouver consulate does have the information now. And actually, as I write, my fiance should be on a bus headed to his medical exam :)

Thanks for the info

Another question, when the cases goes to NVC, they issue them a number that will be used by the consulates. Did you get that # with your NOA2?

Edit:typo

My NOA2 didn't have any such number on it. I'm starting to believe that blanket statement that all approved petitions must go to NVC, is not true, especially at VSC.

JaJo,

Stop and think for a moment - how is the USCIS Approval Notice going to show a number that is assigned by the NVC only after the approved petition has left the USCIS?

Yodrak
