Hi, to those who had been travelling from one state to another while AOS is pending 1-94 expired, is it fine?

I am just worried because I need to fly from another state next week and they might question my 1-94 who is already expired, do I need to bring the notices from USCIS to prove my AOS pending application.

Please anyone??? Thanks in advance...

Traveling domestically state to state is fine, they only look at the biographic page of your passport to confirm who you are, there are no customs and immigration people at security for domestic flights.

You need not worry.

Would they even LOOK at his passport on a domestic flight?

For ID?

There are some roadside immigration checks inside the US, in the region (but not so close to) the Canadian and Mexican borders.

A Photo ID is required on all domestic flights, If have a driver's or state ID that is acceptable. I use my American passport for domestic flights as photo ID.

For domestic flights some sort of photo ID is all that's required. Drivers license, state ID card or EAD would work.

My husband has never carried his passport for ID except when we've had to go see USCIS.

The Border Patrol is permitted to check documentation regarding one's status in the US within 150 miles of the US Border... ICE is permitted to check anywhere in the US...

The Border Patrol has been setting up roadside checkpoints here in Michigan in the past few years.. mush to the chagrin of the locals...

J only has his passport as ID. He has to take it everywhere. I doubt the ID nazis in America would even take his UK drivers licence. And he can't get anyother ID till we get an EAD or GC.

Yeah, James always has to point out where his Bday is on his UK license. He hates using it because he hates the trouble he gets for it....one time some idiot teenage girl at a gas station thought it was a fake (why would you fake a license from another country to use in the USA?). He uses his EAD now but that still gets a few looks but so far no problems with it.

We went to a concert a few weeks ago & J handed the 20 something young girl his passport as ID. She said, what is this? He had to show her his ID page, and birthdate. And he's only a UK citizen - it's not like it was a foreign langauge! GEEZ!

Anyone who's ever lived near San Diego will tell you the same story. I got stopped on the I-5 by Border Patrol once, and had no paperwork on me (except my Cali DL). Luckily they didn't seem to care about me when I obviously wasn't a Mexican.

In some of the airports at border towns they (BP agents) would not let you- foreigner- board, or even go through security, if you don't show them your documentation proving that you are legally in the US (Visa, unexpired I-94, etc). They can tell you are a foreigner by the document you show to the security agent as ID with your boarding pass. They are usually standing right next to them at these airports.
