By law I'm not supposed to possess a firearm. I was wondering if I was breaking any laws just by being in the place.

All I can say on that subject, is always rent, never buy. Also, you can take the girl out of the bar, but not the bar out of the girl. Tough and expensive (almost deadly) lesson learned on my part.

On a lighter note, I was out drinking late at a bar in Bangkok. I was talking to a few "ladies", having a good time buying drinks etc. The bar closed and I thought it would be fun to bring them home and continue drinking there. Problem is when I brought them home to meet the wife, she didn't think it was that "fun" That after-party lasted about 10 seconds. It ended with my wife yelling something in Thai at them, and them splitting.

On a side note, since I married late in life, and I have a large circle of friends that I have known since the days of my youth, I am still friends with most of the women I have had sex with in my life. So, it is kind of weird remembering I am married, when I start hugging them the way I hug my wife (California- we hug everybody hello and good-bye), and have to catch myself before I start sending the wrong signal. Of course, they give me a weird look, and remind how lucky I am to finally have found somebody.
