In an interview after the trial with ABC, Zimmerman's attorney Mark O'Mara said his client had even more reason to carry a gun. And even people who think Zimmerman is guilty may begrudgingly agree that his freedom allows him the right to buy and carry a firearm. But taking pictures as if he's some sort of celebrity? That's tasteless. Someone should tell Zimmerman that even if he thinks he was defending himself, killing a 17-year-old boy isn't a great reason to be famous.

So GZ is not allowed to have his picture made now

In a way he is a hero to me

Why ?

Let me be clear i am not celebrating the fact TM dies, that part is a tragedy.

GZ is part of the vast majority of people who work hard and just want to live in their community, free of crime and violence. George Zimmerman was a considerate man, who helped his neighbors and was generally liked by the majority of them. Should he have followed TM, maybe in hindsight no.However that does not give TM the right to beat his face in .

GZ stood his ground, and used legal lethal force to defend his life. He was prosecuted only because of political correctness, racial animosity, and interference by our President and his bigoted remarks.

GZ was made a scape goat and had his life ruined by racists who's real motive is to spread racial hatred and who hold white "crackers" in contempt. Despite overwhelming odds, the justice system worked and it was proven GZ was not guilty.

So yes GZ won against racism, political correctness and a rabid out of control system that tried to ruin his life, simply for defending his own.

So is he a hero to me..Yes but not because, he killed TM. Because he could have been me.

As the President said.TM could have looked like me..What the president did not say, is that people that look like TM commit almost 50% of murders in the US,but are only 3% of the population. Yet some how if I apply that statistic to everyday life I am racist.

Glad to see GZ getting his life back. If liking the fact that an innocent man did not get executed to appease the gods of political correctness makes you call me racist..so be it.

I went to a gun store today @ lunch with a co-worker. He was picking up a receiver. Apprently that is the part of the gun that is tracked/registered, and he's building his own AK. He had to fill out some paperwork forthis receiver so we had to wait a bit for the background check to clear.

I have to say the place was a trip. It was walls and walls of assault looking weapons. And then mostly semi auto pistols in display cases Those things aint cheap. After all the conversations I've had here in this forum, it gave me a weird feeling being there. I noticed it was almost all older white dudes in there. Maybe a couple younger white military looking types. The had some hunting type rifles and shotguns, but the majority seemed to be the kind of weapons everyone argues about around here. They also had clips/magazines whatever that could hold alot of rounds.

I know someone will jump my a$$ and say you can't tell antyihng about a gun just by how it looks, but I found myself wondering why anyone would want/need one of these "assault looking weapons" As far as I could tell it seemed their only purpose is to turn alot of live people into alot of dead people pretty quickly and pretty easily. They even had these $10,000 sniper rifles. I was thinking if you need to spend $10k to kill a deer, then you should be shopping at Wal-Mart for your meat.

JUst an observation of my field trip to the gun store in Texas today.

Have that coworker take you to the range so you can learn about the different types of guns.

By law I'm not supposed to possess a firearm. I was wondering if I was breaking any laws just by being in the place.

Seems like an expensive hobby that offers little in return. To each his own I suppose. I've spent alot of money over the years on alcohol and hookers. I bet I had more fun spending my money.

It was not that expensive in last 1 year the ammo price have gone up and has been hard to find thats it.

There are also ppl who reload their own rounds to that can be little cheaper but have to invest in the press and all other things to reload.
