What are you talking about? How in your world is an unarmed woman talking down an armed and angrily frustrated gunman before he could maim and injure the occupants of a school related to an armed man shooting an unarmed man in the street? I fail entirely to see any correlation or relationship. Do you seriously believe that GZ is some kind of hero? I don't subscribe to that view. He is not a bad person for defending himself but he hasn't rid the world of an armed and dangerous criminal either. The best I can come up with is that GZ is a somewhat foolish person who got himself into risky situation that he was lucky to get out of relatively unharmed.

Now is it or isn't it possible to leave this thread on track, celebrating the courage of a remarkable and resourceful woman?

I saw something today that I wasn't going to post, but I will start a thread on it and let you see it.

Thought it would be cool for some good news for a change.

Guns are for talkers. IMO, GZ should give her 2 from his newly-acquired arsenal.

I heard the recording. She was brilliant. Of course, if she had a gun she could have just shot him and have had done with it.

Actually, she demonstrated that a good woman without a gun can stop a bad guy with a gun. Wayne LaPierre and his minions have been proven wrong by this woman.

I find that to be the most ridiculous parallel you have ever drawn .worse than no man caused flooding or man made lakes.. She is lucky the gun man was not intent on mass murder.

How many good people do you think died begging for their life at sandy hook or any other time in history.

I just read the are pulling all firearms from the 82 airborne and issuing them philosophy books. BD has just proven you can stop people with guns without using guns.

I stand corrected.

you're right. the two situations are completely the same.

obama should start up a national robo call center to contact every person who instigates or is otherwise involved in american violence. recorded call if someone dies, live in person call if everyone lives.

In what mental state do you have to be to believe that an unarmed woman who single handedly talks down a frustrated, angry and armed man is similar to an armed man getting himself into a foolish situation where he had to kill an unarmed man/teen to get out of that situation in a somewhat unscathed condition? I can only imagine that this is a facetious comment rather than one that you actually believe to be true.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.
