we got divorced ,he used me for the green card and he got away with it because i was blind i signed a divorce agreement stating i will give him the house ( i was stupid)but i did not complete the QUIT CLIAM DEED so when he tried to refinance the house he found out that the house is still in my name ,now he want me to sign the QUIT CLAIM DEED i refused and he hired a lawyer against me the lawyer said that i have signed the divorce agreement so i will have to sign the quit claim deed anyway ,do i have a chance to get back my house :(?what can i do ? will he be able to get away with it?will i have to sign the quit claim?iam asking you before hiring a lawyer maybe somone has an experience help me i have nothing i live in a motel now :( thanks,

There are some state laws that state (no pun intented) that a contract (divorce agreement) or any otherwise can only be valid if the 2 parties not only have a written understanding of what the contract has stated, but also a mutual understanding of what the contract states.

If you didn't originally understand what you where signing, then this would not be a valid contract.

My advice, pay a lawyer a consultation fee to see exactly what you are up against. If it isn't beneficial to continue from what the lawyer says...then I would take the lawyers advice.

I'm confused. Is this not one of your posts from just a month ago?

in the AOS interview letter they asked me for my wife lawful citezenship,my wife is American what are the documents of hers i should take as a proof of her citezenship,passport??birthcertificate??? an other question please,we already sent the affidavit of support and they asked us for it but (unless already submitted)that means we dont need it right? no 3 years tax returns no employment letter because we already submitted it and the medical examination too we already submitted it,please help iam having my interview very very soon in 2 days thanks. what are the documents for AOS interview,explain to me very well,thanks a lot.
