DCF, Naha, Okinawa, USC, not residing in Japan -- possible?

My Japanese fiance currently lives in Okinawa, and we saw on the consular web site instructions about getting married in Japan.

It does not say if a non-resident USC can do DCF.

Does anyone know if I can?

I think they do. At least according to this site.

But rules change frequently and you should call or write the consulate directly.

Yes, you most likely can. Tokyo has regularly accepted I-130 from USCs who do not live in Japan. There are several experiences posted in the archived site: http://www.visajourney.com/forums2/index.p...Search&mode=adv (be sure to extend the search to 'any date' and restrict the forum to DCF).

Those who have gone before you left *plenty* of info on what to do and tips to make your filing easier.

Yes. Your spouse could get a green card in a month if you visited Japan and did DCF

DCF seems like a good option if we can do it. I'm in a similar situation though my fiancee lives on Kyushu. We would have to do it at the Fukuoka consulate. Do you know if it is just as easy to do there? I'd check the archives but they are down at the moment.

In Japan, ONLY Tokyo issues Immigrant Visas, and that is where you must submit the I-130. When you look at Fukuoka's website, it's very clear:

The Consulate Fukuoka does not issue visas. You will soon be redirected to the "Visa Information" page of the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo.

Don't rely on the archives (they won't be back anyway)---there are stories in the current archive about Tokyo, and the Guide has all the resources for you to learn what you need to know.

This is a fast, painless way to immigrate your spouse!
