Yeiiiii..... Just got the mail with approval on removal of the condition kicking.gifkicking.gifkicking.gif .

It's almost 4 months after I sent my application, and almost 6 weeks after my case was transferred. Similar to some of you who got approval, the envelop has the address of St. Albans, VT 05479, where as the USCIS office is Newark, New Jersey (local USICS office). but at this moment, I really don't care and is really excited.

And by the way, in this application my wife chose to change her last name (taking my last name). Though I have to do few things once she has permanent green card (apply for new SSN card showing changed name, and update many other areas), but now I know this can be done. All documents I submitted had her maiden name, where as only the application contained the changed last name.

I know someone started keeping a track of this and at one point, we all forgot to update them, specially once we passed one barrier. I still believe this is a good idea :-)

We August'13 applicants that filed at VSC got case status update as the case transferred to Local Office, telephone status update as the case transferred to Local Office at St. Albans, Vermont and then got NOA2 letter providing the address to be CSC address. The Case status update and telephone update has not changed after receipt of the NOA2.

Hence curious as to what your transfer situation is. Thanks for sharing.

Wow, moved 3 times from VSC to Local Office to Field Office to CSC - am glad that they didn't loose anything in all these 3 transfers. Congratulations.

muhammed gokce,

No, the shutdown does not include USCIS. In fact, the DHS has retained most of its employees (Border Patrol, TSA, Secret Service, etc) and USCIS is still running at 97% of staff. We should not see any delays because of the shutdown.

Hello audrynicole,

You probably won't get an approval until November-December. It takes around 180 days after your case is transferred, of course there are different cases that take either shorter or longer time, but that's the average. I am a June filer, my case was tranferred on August 22nd, I still have not had an answer yet.

Best Regards
