Thanks, Steve...I was pressing 332 instead of 322. oops8rh.gif

According to the 800 number, my case was transferred to the St. Albans, Vermont office for further processing. At least I know where it is now. #Win

Wait... That's where I sent my application.

My understanding is that the decision has been made to transfer the application to our local office, BUT, it probably has not been sent yet, so it means that the application is still at St. Albans Vermont and has not left yet.

Don't you think?

We should check again next week and see what it says.

Yes, we should probably check back again in a week or so, before we drive ourselves batty running around in circles. :)

I think you sent the file to the following address:

USCIS Vermont Service Center
75 Lower Welden Street
P.O. Box 200
St. Albans, VT 05479-0001

Here is another field office in St. Albans which i think they sent our files to. When i called in, the system said, my file was transferred to St. Albans in Aug 19th. So why would automated system say, file is sent in Aug 19th if i is still on Vermont service center. Note the Address, Service center is the place where we sent the file. Field office and service center has totally different address. Even their zip code is different.

All our applications are in St. Albans, Vermont. While we all are scratching out heads an making guesstimates on field office addresses god know what these folks are actually doing with our application. Regardless where they send it, I hope this gets settled within the timeline, which is 5 months. I am going to start calling and ask to open a service ticket starting from my 3 months if I don't get a response back :-). After the painful I-130 process, hope this wont be a dejavu.....

We finally got our actual letter...same as everyone else...transferred from VSC to CSC. I don't think this is a bad thing at all, as CSC seems to process significantly faster.

Yes, same here. Went to CSC (Laguna Nuguel, CA)

So all the time we spent on fact-finding and research really paid with off with no Negativity :-)

So does this transfer rest my processing timeline? Or do I still count the original receipt date?

Thanks,

Well we can only cross our fingers and toes and hope CSC processes applications faster than VSC. :-)

According to June data: Below is the actual statistics for I-751 processing

Vermont Service Center

All other pending : 57,704
Awaiting customer action: 3,964
Completions: 8,290
Total receipt: 8574
California Service Center
All other pending: 22,948
Awaiting customer action: 4,630
Completions: 10,063
Receipts: 5,486
Seems like VSC is over flooded with I-751 applications as of June. I guess because of that they are transferring the applications to balance the workload. Lets wait and see how fast they process the applications that are transferred from VSC to CSC.

I am eagerly looking forward to this thread as this is what I got in email today (and of course without an RFE)

On August 22, 2013, we transferred your CRI89, PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED, to your local USCIS Office for further processing. The new office has jurisdiction over your case and will send you a decision as soon as processing is complete or you will be notified if further information or action is needed. If you move, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address.

How do I even know what local office it is if I have more than 2 field office (I.e. New York or New Jersey)?

Olaru_Steve: please keep this post up if you find a direction. Contacting USCIS seems like a good idea at this moment, though not sure how effective that can be. However I don't think transferring a case to local office without an RFE is that uncommon. Do we know what is the basis of these statistics?

Best regards,

Hello-

I'm an April filer and i received the same noticed. It was initially moved to "another USCIS office" on 8/19/13, on 8/22/13 was moved to "your local USCIS office" and yesterday it was moved again to "an USCIS office". I'm guessing is because of the work overload since I see other people are having the same status updates. Let's stay positive and hope that it's something on their end and no interview will be needed. please keep us update and I'll do the same. BTW mine application was initially in VSC

best of luck

I am still bit confused with my question and hope someone may give some clue or shed some light from their experiences:

Does this transfer reset my processing timeline? Or do I still count the original receipt date and start calling CSC after the 6th Month (July filer)?

It's really just an internal USCIS paperwork shuffle...by definition, the processing timeline starts when USCIS (at any USCIS facility) receives your case and ends when they adjudicate it...who does the adjudication or where is immaterial. I'm not aware that the USCIS makes any guarantees with respect to any processing timeline though, so 'resetting the timeline' is a moot point, I believe.

Also, the entire point of moving the case to another service center is to process it faster than it would have been processed at the original overloaded service center...so any impact to the processing timeline would seem to be in your favor (no guarantees, of course).

Hellraiser,

Your clock started from the initial receipt date because NOA2 clearly says that if the processing time of this application exceeds the normal processing time listed in USCIS website, contact them. So your processing date still remains the same regardless of where the case is transferred. Nowhere it says that the processing time of that application will be reset after transferring the application to new Service Center.

What does your NOA2 says about the receipt date? Mine is off by couple of days from NOA1. In NOA1, receipt date is June 3rd but NOA2 says the receipt date is June 05.

Processing timeline changes only if the receipt date changes.
