Well you know, probably by late October and early November most of August case will be approved.

They are moving kind of quick.

I spoke to a lawyer here in Jersey last year. He told me by this time this year cases were going to fly off the table as quick.

He has insiders, he used to be an Immigration Officer.

That is very good news. Thanks for sharing.

3/21/11 - I-130 sent to USCIS Lockbox, Chicago.

OK, the signature block on our approval letter was from a local office near me...not anywhere near CSC. So, I think CSC is sending these (at least some of them) to local service centers to be adjudic

An update on my case as I have received an additional update on the 17th of October:
"The CRI89 PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283."
There was a previous communications dated on the 11th of October stating that:
"On October 11, 2013, we transferred your CRI89, PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED, to your local USCIS Office for further processing. The new office has jurisdiction over your case and will send you a decision as soon as processing is complete or you will be notified if further information or action is needed. If you move, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address."

Dpmate, we submitted 1 day after you (8/1/13) and our EAC number from Biometrics letter didn't work till 9/12/13. On 9/12/13, it worked with the same update "On September 12, 2013 we transferred......". The telephone status gave additional details and provided St. Albans, Vermont address, which kind of confused us. Then a week later the online update changed to "CRI89... being processed....". Then in another 2 days we got NOA2 (letter) in which it was mentioned that application has been transferred and gave the address of CSC office.

I haven't as yet since we have been traveling on business and will not be back until this Saturday. The only communication has been via email and through the USCIS Case Status website.

Good Morning Navyk,

I have received a NOA (the first actually via regular mail, the 3rd since the previous two ones were delivered via e-mail) stating:

"This is to notify you that we have transferred the above application or petition to the USCIS office at:

California Service Center (...)

We transferred this case because the record indicates that the office has jurisdiction over the case. That office will notify you of subsequent action taken on this case"

Let's see how this one plays out, since the first notification, sent via email on the 11th of October,stated transfer to the local office, the second one, sent via email on the 17th of October, stated that the application has been transferred to a USCIS office, and the third one, dated on 11th of October and received via regular mail, stated the above verbatim. This one is rather weird, since as a Florida resident, the office dealing with my CRI89 should be VSC and not CSC.

Anyone facing a similar situation?

Yes, I think this is pretty much what we are all getting. I got the exact same three emails followed by the same hard copy letter. VSC is back logged so they are transferring some of their workload to CSC.

Yes, I think this is pretty much what we are all getting. I got the exact same three emails followed by the same hard copy letter. VSC is back logged so they are transferring some of their workload to CSC.

Yes, that is it for most part. However CSC also may be getting overwhelmed and hence a few cases are actually getting transferred to their closest local service centers.

Hello olaru_steve,

Firstly, thanks for your post and the link to the document.

Secondly, have you had any experience with the 90-day window from the date of the I-751 submission? I have not received any RFE as yet, which would reset the 90-day window, and have not received any notification for an interview? With the backlog at VSC, the different transfers from office to office going on and the recent government shutdown, I wonder how binding this rule might be at this particular juncture.

If the 90-days rule currently applies, it would be great for those of us waiting not to have to worry about RFEs and interviews once the 90-day window is gone.

I have been a big fan of this website for long time and finally seems like, now its my time to beat the drum. I filed my joint I-751 to VSC on June 2013 but few days ago got an update on my case stating that my CRI89 PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED, has transferred to local USCIS office for further processing. Your local office has jurisdiction on your case and will send you a decision as soon as processing is complete or your will be notified if further information or action is needed. I am just wondering what would be the next step for me. I read in several threads that if the file is transferred to local office it would be for interview. My file was transferred without asking for any RFE documents by VSC to local field office. Is this common?

I-751 form was filed along with following documents:

Joint I-751 form

joint Residence lease documents

GC phocopy

2010, 2011,2012 joint taxes

ID cards photocopies (mine and my spouse)

joint Health Insurance Cards photocopy (both my and my spouse)

Letter of affidatives from my friend and my mother in Law.

joint Utility bills since 2011 (electricity and cable)

Joint bank Account statements since 2011

Last three months Pay stubs from my current job

Pics (our vacation pics as well as pics with her family).

So now i found out that my case has been transferred to local field office, could you please advise what would be the next step possibly taken by field office.

According to Improving the Process for Removal of Conditions on Residence for Spouses and Childern document published February 28th, 2013 (unsure about the validity of the document).

Notwithstanding referral by the service center to a district office, a district director may upon review of the Form I-751 and supporting material, waive the interview requirement and adjudicate the petition. Where an interview is deemed essential, it must be scheduled by USCIS within 90 days of the date on which the Form I-751 petition was properly filed, and with written notice to the petitioner(s).

If interview is deemed by USCIS, it must be schedule within 90 days on which the Form I-751 is submitted. In many threads i have read that some people are not called in for interview for years. Not sure what is true. Can some one who has been working on immigration ans has extensive knowledge on such law provide your feed back.

If above is true and don't receive interview letter from USCIS within 90 days of I-751 filling, what should i expect from local field office?
