Hello all,

So the wife got the visa a week ago and should be coming here in 2 weeks. She said there is a paper that tells her to pay $160 fee for something. She gave me the link on the paper and it takes me to the login site for uscis. Any idea of what this is for and if i should pay it from here? thanks

That's for her to get her green card and its $165.00. That's the new immigrant fee.

FYI when it ask for your # its A0 than the number on the visa. You can pay now or you have up to a year (the stamp she gets when she lands expiry date). However no green card until you pay.

fwiw : here is a link to a post i started when i was having problems getting registered to pay this fee.

While the post started with problems, its become a useful resource for other questions also.

And its 165USD, not 160.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/436267-payment-of-165usd-iv-fee-via-uscis-elis/

If you have any questions, let us know or pm me.

You "should" pay it before her POE but its not required, but if you pay it after she comes over, then it will delay receiving the green card itself.

Good luck with everything.

PS, my wife also came from Lahore.

EDIT: forgot to add - you should only pay the fee once the visa and the passport are in hand, not before.
