So I really close friend of mine got residency through vawa for domestic abuse, now a citizen and also provided for parents to become residents. But now after many years this person has come back with the husband. She said its different now and everything is working out just fine. The have been together for a couple of years now and everything is good now. The problem is that they want to file taxes together as well as get property together. Now, they never got divorced. So legally they still married. Anyhow how can they have a normal marriage again, or is it not possible to do anything about it anymore Will it be a problem if they are together now, and they want to do all these things?.

Thanks!

Absolutely no issue.

It might make people wonder about the veracity of the VAWA claims, but they can do as they can be together as they wish. I assume they've been filing taxes as married but separately.
