So we called today to track her passport, but at first they said they had no record of her actually going to the interview, so when I checked on the NVC website we get this

Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview. If further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved, it will be processed and mailed or available within two business days. Under the U.S. Immigration and Nationality Act, Immigrant Visas for "Diversity Visas" cannot be issued after September 30th of the year in which you were selected to apply for a Diversity Visa. For example, entrants into the Diversity Visa Program in Fall of 2011 were selected for Diversity Visa 2012 Program, and selectees MUST apply and receive their visa prior to September 30, 2012 otherwise they lose eligibility to receive a Diversity Immigrant Visa, regardless of additional administrative processing. In addition, please note that some immigrant visas may not be able to be issued if the annual numerical limit for that category has been reached.

Anyone know what to do? She was told she was approved and the officer assured her everything was fine, she gave them her passport and all paperwork

They are doing additional background checks and other stuff. Usually just a week or two delay...usually.

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

Were you at the interview? Did they explain why your case was sent for AP? When you call, do you speak to a Russian employee of the embassy or ask to speak to an American consulate officer? I really don't know much about AP or the US Embasssy in Moscow but I damm sure would not stop calling until I spoke with someone that explained things to me.

I was at the interview what my fiancee told me was she turned in all documents and after the interview the consular officer explained she was approved to turn in her passport and she would receive the visa in 7 days. The phone numbers I call all direct to US Traveldocs ,but they aren't very helpful does anyone have a direct line to the actual embassy. I called the NVC and DOS already, but they both said I need to speak with the embassy. Like I said they did call today but she couldn't pick up. I sent a email to the consulate ,but I'm not sure how long it will take for them to reply. I made the huge error of buying plane tickets for September 1 :( I know I'm supposed to wait till visa is in hand

They called today but we missed the call, what do you guys think it was?

Either they wanted to ask some questions or it was a note that the visa was ready. They will call again.

AP is classified so you won't get answers.
