okok....now it's time to play.......

The "Lets call Steve on the first day of his vacation at 11 PM to inquire about a dog bite" game......

My friend Al calls me up in a frenzy.....

his nephew was haplessly walking along a sidewalk and was bitten by a dog on a leash. The dog, and owner took off. It's a clear case of "Bite and run"

They call 911, cops came, did an "Aided card", and EMS (ambulance) came took the guy to the hospital......

Al's question....."what do we do?"

My answer.....Nuttin, whatju gonna do?

Unless you can prove the guy used the dog as a weapon and ordered it to bite your nephew, you have no criminality. But the dog owner is liable. However, he took off. You can hire a Private eye to find the guy, then sue him. And you think any lawyer is gonna take the case to litigation once they find out the dog, and it's owner are penniless?

Steve's question....should I turn off my cell phone for the remainder of my vacation?

Oh and I think the NYPD also does what is known as a "Animal bite" report. Then it's forwarded to the SPCA.....

Sounds sexy. I love lobster/crab.

Asia said that she has never heard of, seen, felt, or eaten a lobster. And that she's afraid of them.

And she was mentioning summin about a hot dog.....

the eff is wrong with people? If you get bitten by a dog and it doesn't have rabies, it probably has a reason.

and why the marklar are they calling me on a saturday night because their nephew got bit by a dog? what do I look like the dog catcher?

I think you should tell your friend that he should get the kid's hand sewn up if there was broken skin, get him a tetanus shot, and not pet strange dogs.

People should learn to train their f*cking dogs to heel, sit, stay, and lay down at minimum. It's not hard, dogs are, in general, extremely food motivated. It's people who are lazy. Granted some dogs are more "stubborn" (some are just dumb, like bumps on a lump) and take longer to train, but that doesn't mean they're not trainable. It's why picking out a dog that suits your personality and level of ability is important. A first time dog owner should not own a dog that requires a bunch of socialization (Rotties or Akitas) or are hard to train like a Samoyed (slow learner) or West Highland White Terrier (stubborn.) But people want the pretty dog, or the one they think brings them status, or a small dog because it's an apartment (Greyhounds and Great Danes make excellent apartment dogs), or this one because they wanted one as a kid but their parents said no... Who knows!!!

Back to training, people not realize that when their dogs are walking in front of them that dog is showing their dominance. When you feed a dog before you, you're telling that dog, you're better than me. When you let them jump all over you, they're treating you like equals. Dogs are pack animals and need to be lower on the totem pole. When they're lower, they listen better because that's what nature tells them to do. Then they're happier too because they have their place in the world.

/end rant

Oh and to continue the rant... people should train their children not to touch random strange dogs. My daughter asks me, then asks the dog owner if it's alright to touch the dog. She doesn't get in the dog's face to pet it either. When I see dogs walking, I ignore them. I just keep walking. I don't make eye contact and only rarely ask to pet other people's dogs. Mostly because it bothered the heck out me when I was walking my dog and people surrounded him or her or them and pet away without asking. It's like touching people's children. You just don't do it uninvited.

I totally agree with you Niki. There is a "house" down the street that lets their pit bull run wild. I want the dog to be nice, but the owner has let it run out in front of my car one too many times for me to care about my speed now. The same with their own children...

Again agree with you Nik, I only let people pet Dex if they ask. He gets roped in otherwise. He is overly friendly and I don't want him to scare anyone. He loves people though, so if they ask, he sits and gets love.

I love a guy who looks like he could be on Criminal Minds as either an agent or a killer.

unbelievable..........

apparently he was just walking past the dog and it bit him....

I be right back after dropping off meds.......

bologna! Dogs don't just do that unless they're crazy.

My ex-inlaws owned crazy dogs. The one dachshund ran down their stairs and bit my gd leg one day. They put her in this one person's lap, trying to be all "oh she's a nice dog" and the dog almost bit the person in the face. No wonder someone just left the damn thing on the side of the road. But my ex-inlaws couldn't train a dog properly to save their life. I taught their other two dogs to not jump up on me, sit, and wait to be pet. I hate being jumped on but people with small dogs tend to let them do it because they don't want to bend over all the way to pet the dog.

Yeah you taught him to sit and get pets which is awesome. *** 3 cheers ***

I had a friend who had a huge dog who she couldn't control and he would jump over EVERYONE. Dog stood about 6' high when he was on his back legs which is taller than me. I don't want your 200lb dog jumping on me thanks! I hated going to her house tbh. My ex-in laws got mad when i used to knee their Westie off me when I was pregnant. I was a f*cking house, I couldn't just bend over and push her down easily and she jumped up ALL the time. So they thought I didn't like dogs. After the pregnancy was done, I taught the damn thing to sit and wait for pets.

Does this look like a person who doesn't like dogs?

Nik is that you?

Dex doesn't really mind me that often because he is so willful, but he is a therapy dog and he has done such great things with the people I work with.

How do you train? Treat based? Ali is really good with this.
