Bollocks. My post regarding US Master's degrees was the last post. You shall now ignore it all and I shall continue my musings.. not that I have much to muse about at the moment anyway.

Okay, you've certainly earned your Wacko title now.

That being said, I was doing some preliminary research into becoming a teacher in RI (mainly getting a Master's in Education or somesuch).. and damn, I have an odd feeling due to the way UK degrees work I might have to do a lot of preliminary coursework to even get onto a degree program.. hmm.

Most likely :/ I was looking into the same for the husband, as he has mentioned being a history teacher. You might be able to start off as a substitute and work towards your teaching cert though. Depends on your state.

I love a guy who looks like he could be on Criminal Minds as either an agent or a killer.

Shouldn't be too bad. You might have to take a couple of courses, that's it. I hope you get whatju want.

Yes, depend on state.

Ryan I highly recommend you move over to CT for teaching. Better yet....NY. Google the salaries.

When I retire, I gonna teach math :)

Or English :)

I don't think Amy will move back to NY at this point. CT may be an option for commuting or something though. But hell, I haven't even got NOA2 yet so this is all kind of moot. Just thinking ahead, really.

maybe not.

IMO, it's worth it to have the degree evaluated first, then the university tell you what's what. If it's a big degree at a university in the UK - it should easily be 'noted' 1:1 or greater.

But, nothing is set in stone till the evalation is completed and the university makes a determination.

In Texas, must live as a resident for 1 year before getting the lowest tuition rates - unsure how that works in RI - but if one was going to school right after the POE here, they'd be paying higher rates for tuition.

In between semesters, suggest to work as teacher intern somewhere, also learn what the teacher certification thing is for RI.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
