Thanks Niki, Cary and Asia for your kind words on the start of my employment.

Niki, maybe you can chime in here as you used to work in retail. I went to a major sporting goods store and bought some running stuff plus an expensive golf bag. When I got home, I looked at the bill and the cashier didn't charge me for my golf bag...the bag sells at around $140.00. Should I call the store to let them know and tell them to put it on my Visa or should I just consider myself lucky and not do anything? When I was cashing out, I asked the cashier if she got everything and she said yes.

I agree with Merrytooth about going back. I don't know if they'll charge you without being there. Likely they'll never figure out what happened to the bag, but it's possible they could assume the girl didn't ring it in for you on purpose and fire her for it if they look through video footage. Or they could assume you took it. All retail stores have cameras on the retail clerks, not just to catch people stealing money from them, but also to catch them stealing money from the store. Most of the time in retail you figure that there is a certain amount of theft or missing items due to discrepancies between shipping and receiving so no one gets any blame for anything, but the chance is there. Up to you.

OKOKOK........stop......

listen to Steve. If it's a mom and pop store. Then I'm all for 100% honesty.

Big corporations expect these kind of losses. Target? Sports Authority? Let it ride. Consider it a gift. Don't feel bad. Really !!

Man is anyone gonna answer my animal question?

don't be surprised if a potential employer asks you that question in an interview.....

or "If you were a car. Which car would you be? and why?"

Most likely all those large stores write it off as being 'misplaced', its up to your own sense of honesty. What I wrote was worst case scenario, which isn't likely.

Thank you! smile.png

I do get tired of news and current events radio. NPR is chock full of that. For mindless entertainment, I listen to BBC Radio 4 Extra! , often.

Cherry on top, Colbert! Thanks very much. Hard to contain my excitement so I'm high-fiving myself. And my dog. And this beer.

Dance with me, lady!
