I went to the Doc's because I had to sort out my vaccination records (which they were ultra-unhelpful in sorting.. have to call them tomorrow to get a response to a written request about it all) and took my immigration folder with me which had my passport in it. Somewhere along the line it fell out of the folder and has gone missing. Retraced all the steps I took today (bar the bus, because I'd need to get on the same bus I got on in the first place which isn't easy) and have called around the various places I visited asking if it had been handed in. Nada.

So I've made an appointment to head to London on Friday armed with an application form, a lost passport form, £100 and enough for my train+underground too. All being well it'll be with me in a week and then I can sort out my Police Certificate. I also found out today that London's changed their policies AGAIN - we now have to just do DS-160 and DS-2001. So I filled out all those forms and printed them out for nothing.

Oh goodness Ryan, that is terrible! I did just read about them having switched the forms. I know it's a pain in the ####### to have done all this work for nothing. I wonder why they switched?

And yeah, that's a bit more than we pay. Do you have to go to London specifically for all passports, or just because you've lost yours? Ali moans all the time about having to go to London for his immigration stuff (medical/interview) and I didn't realize how expensive it was. We can just go and apply at a local post office for ours.

No, London's just the closest place for a fast track. I could send it via the Post Office but then it takes from 3-6 weeks. This takes 1 week even if it means I have to go to London and pay £20 extra (plus the train/underground fare of course). But given we're probably about to leave NVC this week, time is of the essence really because I need a copy of the passport to send off the Police Certificate. That'll probably get sent Premium as well for a 2-day turnaround...

Ahh, I see. Definitely a warranted trip. When Ali went for his police certificate, it took weeks and I was having a meltdown. I hope it goes quickly for you guys.

Aye, hopefully. We'll get there. Just an unfortunate (and expensive, somewhat) setback.. just not my day today it seems on more than one level..
