I am also a fan of Kale Chips.

The teen’s favourite are Sweet Potato (Yam) Chips and since they’re healthy and easy to make I usually go with them.

I think I’ve found a recipe for Jalapeño Ranch dip that is completely from scratch that is worthy of a try.

A guy told me today that he found the Canadian health care system confusing after I said the US one is confusing after he asked if Target was cutting hours to avoid paying for health care.

1) I don't know if they are, but I have 40 hours this week.

2) IMHO businesses shouldn't be paying for the health care, the people should be. But it's confusing as heck to know if you have to pay a little bit and your insurance has to pay x amount too and there might be something left over but you need some forms for this or that?

3) what's so confusing about having some more taxes taken off your check or even sending a quarterly check to the govt (based off wage, so if you make more you're subsided less) so that you can walk into a hospital if you break an arm? Or not worrying about having to sell your house and all your possessions if you get cancer and need some serious treatment? Granted you may have to wait a bit for something you think is serious but really isn't when you consider that someone is dealing with brain cancer, or bleeding to death.... I have learned to never complain about the wait at emergency because if it was serious, I'd be rushed in (and have been.)

I was thinking today, if I get into a car accident, it'd be cheaper for me to buy a ticket back to Canada and hope I'd make it, and just live up there for 6 months, than pay for a US hospital bill! (As I'm currently uninsured because we're waiting for the open period at hubs work. /sigh)

Perhaps you can persuade your fellow Texan to go natural gas where available......

Uhm, no. is a cultural thing. It is abysmally messy without the supervent.

So, if'n T-Bone hasna been in a real chinese kitchen, gas cooking not seem so useful.

No No, I am not saying that Texas has no culture.

Gump is following me around annoying the ####### outta me.....

Kinda upset that my sister got to see my husband and MIL today. She has now seen him before me.

Kinda feel justified in my rage.

Perhaps you can persuade your fellow Texan to go natural gas where available......

'Tain't feasible in this 'hood, no man. Already consulted the neighbo(u)rs about it.

As stated not many messages above, Mrs. T-B. bought me cheap. (I have been eating a bag of same tonight, but no matter.) She and her contemporaries are firmly of one mind that we spousal-units are all Cheap Gringos, $i man. Ergothuswithforthly, I have proposed to her these two options (suggested by another Cheap Gringo), see man:

1. If we get a glass cooktop, it has to be induction (the newest type). These cost something like $800, which is outrageous. We will have to save the money. We shall save $50/month toward it. Meanwhile, we buy a different kind of cooktop (used) for $50 or whatever, and Mrs. T-B. will use it.

2. Before buying a glass cooktop, we try one first, to see whether or not Mrs. T-B. likes it. We get a used one for $50 or less. She must remember that it will take forever to warm up. If she boils something with an empty or dry pot, the glass will get too hot and break. All her pots & pans must be extremely flat on the bottom, or the cooktop won't work for her.

The advantage of #1 is that Mrs. T-B. might try the interim coil-burner cooktop and like it, whee man. The advantage of #2, inconvenient though it would be, is that she would learn what everyone I've talked to has concluded about glass cooktops: to wit, they suck, man, and people have changed back.

A further advantage of #1 is this: In consideration that we husbandly sorts have been labeled Cheap Gringos, we husbandly sorts in return think that our citizenized Ecuatoriana wives are actual or imminent Profligate $pender$, ouch man. Thrift is a virtue that has not always been engrained, si and no man.

The drawback to both #1 and #2 is that Mrs. T-B. was playing on Facebook tonight and didn't read my e-mail about this, no man. However, we shall see what's at the massive garage sale, the moving sale, and the estate sale tomorrow, see man, and a side trip to Habitat for Humanity is also in the cards, because the offerings on Craigslist were a bit too richly priced, gee man. It's hoped that the weeklong rains will let up for said excursions, drip man.

I would if I was closer and you’d pay me wink.png

Despite your military discipline, you'd take one look and run out screaming, eeeeeeeeeeeee man.

To be fair, Mrs. T-B. can clean up very well and quite rapidly; she merely doesn't do it very often, no man.

But did someone buy you cheap?

(Poop -- LPoP and ergo unread, sigh man.)
