Awoke groggily, read some of newspaper, decided to mow lawn before it got too hot. Too late, schpritz man -- probably 90 F. and soupily humid at 11 a.m. Fortunately, was mostly cloudy. Finished mowing and had just hit the close-button for the garage when it began to rain like a #######. There's no regular-world feeling like finishing mowing just before it rains, no man.

Had a bar of soap been at hand, I could have taken my shower right there, efficien-cy man.

Finished the 4 laundry-loads without incident (where'$ my paycheck, $teve man) and had a marvelous nap with a corpulent, purring feline beside.

Dishwarsher dried stuff a little better last night, probably because I waited a couple of extra hours before emptying it. Tried the expensive rinse-aid and had no spots, no man. Will use this stuff up and convert to white vinegar, cheap man.

'Tis the second Sunday in a row when I didn't leave the house by car, si and no man. We are a real party-animal, zzz man.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Well, it looks as though tonight will be the first time in a week that I will have made it to bed before 2:30 a.m., zzz man. Only undone projects were to finish reading the Sunday paper and (optional) look at some work that I'd brought home. Shall off-log here, minister to cat, and prepare to zzz, man.

Don't quite know how to respond to this.

Either I only hung out with drunks and druggies, or there was just a lot of them Nordeast back in the day. Or a combination of the two.

erry week.

Mon/Tues with my in-home kid. Office hours on Wednesday. Thurs-Sat night working.

I shouldn't really complain, since I was the one who made the choice to pick up a second day with Jake (in-home kid), but I really feel like I'm doing well with him and I want to be there for his family during their time of need. They also pay me $4 over my manager rate at my regular job. Soooooooo, it was a choice, but it's still a long week! Will be more tolerable once Ali is here and I don't have to worry about coming home to a depressed dog sad.png

You're going to have to worry about coming home to a depressed husband though. My wife always brings up working a second job so she can send more money home to her family. I always tell her its not allowed, working a 40 hour week is more than enough. Besides I know her family wouldn't be happy knowing she's working extra hours just so they can have more luxuries. They'd probably be upset with me for allowing it.

Are you fishing playin on the shop floor now?

I'll back and forth for a week or two yet. Depends how I feel about it. Catching up on some IT work this morning. Every time I spend a bunch of time on the shop floor, it seems a bunch of IT issues pop up.
