It's a sweet sticky rice ball.

No lanterns here. It is more of a solitary experience. You decorate your tatami with pampas grass and other seasonal plants, and drink sake, eat mochi, whilst looking at the beautiful September moon. You enjoy the sadness and solitude of the autumn. Very zen ( as the yanks would say)!

Half my life. I kinda think of myself as an Asian , even though I don't look like one at all! I once went two years without going back to the UK, and when I did go back I found myself being amazed at what big, beautiful eyes everyone had and blushing everytime my eyes met with someone. Lmao!

You're silly.......

Here, read the stories behind the holiday....

Seafood is that cheap in Ecuador? Must visit ASAP. An acquaintance in Ecuador has a shrimp farm in Ecuador, and apparently they are fed steroids - I hope they don't become violent!

Well, maybe it was only 4 crabs.

"Waiter -- do you serve crabs here?"

"Why, yes, sir -- we serve anyone."

Dining out in Ecu is exceptionally cheap. In a small-yet-touristy town outside Quito during a visit with Mrs. T-B.'s northern relatives, I spent $43 for full lunches for 11 adults and 1 child.

The basics of life are very reasonable there. However, any "luxury" is beastly expensive -- for example, a 32" HD television was over $2,000. Clothing in department stores is also unreasonably priced, in my view. I don't see how anyone ever buys a car. The socialist president of Ecu, Rafael Correa, has raised import taxes so high that no one can afford to buy anything. He obviously aspires to be the next "#1 loco leader in S. America," to succeed Chavez in Venezuela, but he'll never quite make it.

I don't think I could stand Pork-flavoured Ice cream. I'm

When you were back in Canada they had the Lays Pick your favourite chips. One of them Was Maple Mouse. Well as someone who has not seen their commercials I thought maybe they meant the dessert, but ack as soon as the kids opened the bag I could smell it. They made it taste like Mouse ewwwwwwww.

Mice have a very high protein content, D. ma'am. Hard to catch enough to constitute a satisfying daily meal, however.

One more violation and you're all toast, see man.

Going to bed after ministering to the cat, zzz man. Mrs. T-B. might accept a couple of stops at garage sales as we make our way to the coast tomorrow.

Hey bacon is pork..........

I like bacon and pork but just not with my ice cream. I'm pretty picky with my ice cream!

Mice have a very high protein content, D. ma'am. Hard to catch enough to constitute a satisfying daily meal, however.

OMG Tbone I kept looking at that dang word "mouse" and kept trying to figure out what was wrong with it. It should of said moose. But still those chips smelled terrible morning sickness was full force after that.

Gump, grotesque table manners, continues.....

Talk with mouth full, soup slurping, rice shoving, noisy chewing....etc........

Now that savage kid back in malaysia, that's his son. A chip off the old block.....

Oh talk of which, those of you who followed that story......

I was talking to Tiff's aunt, and that kid came up in the conversation. And Tiff's aunt said "I know how he got like that, his mom (Tiff's sis) was the same way".....

Voila!
