why you paying retail for clothes? get to charity resale shop.

Because I hate used clothes. I only buy them if I have to. I spent my whole life getting hand me downs, including shoes. When I was a kid I got one new outfit a year. Two once I had my horse, but it didn't matter because I had a horse! Now I don't, so I don't buy used clothes. I'd rather buy new ones for $3.96 each than used ones for the same price.

I got really good grades in school and had wanted one forever. I also said I wouldn't get braces and I did pretty much all the chores at home plus got good grades, and stayed out of trouble. I was bullied pretty hard core and she was my only friend for a long part of my life. I'd have to say my horse and my dog kept me from being a teenage statistic.

Went for a walk around the northeast after dinner tonight. I didn't realize how neat that area was. Yay Minneapolis!

Ah. Makes perfect sense. Apologies.

I still prefer to chase after used clothes, made in USA or the UK, none of this 'made in China' garbage save for underbritches or socks.

Of course, I care not for where my wife gets her clothes. So, that's a plus, all the way round.

I had an exceptionally frugal childhood, teen-age-hood, and those habits never left me. Sometimes it's useful, when house hunting or seeking land for big gardening.

I am probably less frugal than I should be to be honest.
