Well, was prepared for late-morn visit from appliance inspector to (hopefully) condemn old dishwarsher, then the separate delivery/installation of new machine. Called inspector mid-morn to get better handle on time. Guy had just been in major accident (not his fault) and was quite shaken. Got rescheduled with him or his colleagues for Tues. and rescheduled new machine's delivery (if needed) for Thurs.

This means that I ended up going in for a (productive) half-day of work on Mon., will probably stay home all day Tues. (albeit with work-brought-home to do), and will (if new machine is needed) stay home for an uncertain time on Thurs. depending on deliverance of new machine. Whee, man.

And, zzz man.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Asia - them first two tomatoes resemble antique variety and actually taste better than the ROMAs below.

Congrats Darnell. I can understand your excitement.

Ah the old got in an accident excuse. I've heard that one before. I really hate taking time off work for something like this and then they don't show up. Granted an accident is a pretty good excuse.

I'm not sure why you just didn't drag the machine out yourself and see if it was fixable.

I am happy to report that the surgery was a success. I'm immobile for a few days (only) but will not make the pond jump.

Our main concern was her original civil documents (which I have here) and not enough time to get em shipped out.

Shazaam ! She has a 2nd set of the original civil documents, made at the same time (5 years ago) . She gave me a set and I wrongly thought (all these years) that it was the only set. She's had them all along.

Crisis averted, but I'm stuck in Dallas area for the next two weeks doing physical therapy. Still no ACL torn, snipped, cut, so that's a plus.

The surgery was a success, the medial miniscus was scraped a bit, made smooth, and bits of cartiledge sucked out of the knee and leg. (these had sheared off and scattered around the knee ages past).

So, we not reschedule - she's still on deck for the 10th.

Great news!

Heal up and get ready :)

so I look at verizon's website. Says "trade in event, appraise your old device"......so I waste likek 1 minute, punch in all the info on my old phone, condition, etc.....and it says "your old device is worth 10 dollars".

why is verizon wasting my time?

I've got an old iPhone 3GS, I just keep it as a backup, that is worth about the same. It will probably drop to 3 cents with today's release of the new iPhone 5S and 5C.

Wow what happened yesterday?

nuttin, I couldn't get a hold of the boss more than 2 minutes to speak with him. I didn't even go to work today. fuggit.

remember that little bonus system I talked of? where we pick up someone's electrica bill, or car payment? for doing extra stuff, stayin late, etc.....he took that away too.

but you know, serves these a holes right, no one wanted it when it was there. Now that it's gone, they wanna b1tch about it.

I dun care. Like I said, I'm not the go between.

At this rate, I'm gonna head for an early retirement...
