Well I think that's really great that you try to make everyone feel welcome . I really don't understand people who get homesick at all, but I'm just used to moving around so much that the thought of having a "home" to miss feels alien to me. I really hope you get a chance to move the England someday and see if you actually like it more than here Maybe small town UK is actually a better place for you! You never know..

I think now that T-B's a moderator, he has to wear two hats basically. If both hats agree with what he posts, then the post goes into the interwebs. Essentially, where before he might join us in criticizing posts in other parts of the forum because of one reason or another, he can't do that anymore in the interest of impartiality.

That said, it's proof if you work hard good things will come to you. Problem is I'm a bit like an eagle eye and too ready to pull the trigger sometimes on some posts, though that said I did sort of help down a former banned member causing trouble a few days ago. Shame he feels he has to use proxies and the like to circumvent a ban on an immigration forum..

While on the large-appliance topic: Got good news in that the delivery window for the new dishwarsher is 2p to 6p on Monday. The repair personnel from the home-warranty company are to come between 8a and 1p. Ergothuswithforthly, if they think that the old dishwarsher can be definitively repaired, I can cancel delivery of the new one; if it's not repairable, the warranty co. will probably issue us a voucher to defray the cost of the new one.

This same repair crew can evaluate Mrs. T-B.'s hosed cooktop, which I suspect needs to be completely replaced.

I'll be staying home from work on Monday to get the lowdown, and I'll dutifully report the outcomes.

I have some fresh green beans to use tonight. Dunno what to pair them with, but I'm loving the quinoa right now, so I might cook that in some white wine and pair it with chicken of some kind.

One usually pares green beans with a knife, not with a chicken. No matter; this was the LPoP (last post on page) and no one has read it, no ma'am.

I gave up on retail-bought sheets long ago. All of ours are now from resale stores or garage sales. They're of far higher quality than anything in retail stores or on-line, and at a fraction of the cost. I paid $4 for our best set of sheets and $7.57 for our second-best set. The spare sets are all in that range, too.

I didn't leave the house at all today except to step outside a couple of times. The mosquitoes have been ferocious and ravenous since Friday, and the rains haven't helped. I shall endeavor ("endeavour" if in Canada) to not "itch" myself (east-Texas colloquy for "scratch") tonight, and to nuke my corpus with calamine lotion, Campho-Phenique, or whatever other such substance is available and effective. For now, zzz man.
