Well, because they wrote a well thought out response and I'll get way more props if I just say "Obama hates America" or something.

Alot of people here read the first sentence and move on after clicking +1.

If you're still reading this post, you have a longer attention span than alot of posters here. Myself included.

Sometimes I read the post and sometimes I don't. It depends on my mood, the poster, etc. New issues rarely come up. Even the TM/GZ thing was just another addition to the ongoing race and gun debate. No one cared anything about the case except for the pieces that supported their preconceived notions.

Sometime I do picture the posters reading an article before they post it and thinking about how it proves their point about an on going argument. "This will show 'em!" But of course you never made it to this sentence. Alas!

Some aren't looking for hearts or +1's, just lively debate. I'm just coming back to the forum as I prepare for ROC's. Mr. Big Dog typically had/has well thought out responses, that were rational, although from the opposite spectrum of where I lean. But it made for interesting banter. I don't know if he has lost his flair or not, I haven't been stalking his posts. Slim was/is a good poster too, from what I remember. Actually most of the RUB guys were alright. Teddy B was good in the Voter ID threads awhile back, when we were debating against Rocks, not sure if she's still around or not(rocks that is). Not sure if Kip from Alaska is still around or not either, but his posts always attracted attention.

Kip is banned for life. Not sure what happened to Rocks. I think she was pregnant when she was posting alot about the voter ID thing. Maybe she had the kid and figured VJ was lame.

By the way, the video in your posts rockgoofy.gif

I freely admit I don't read long posts. If someone posts a long article I wait for the fight and jump in on the bullet points

What karee said.

My point was that long winded posts go ignored so why waste the effort. Debate on here is fairly pointless as eveyone already has their mind made up about the world. I like the shananigans though. It's only a matter of time before it devolves into "you're stupid, no you're stupid" or the dreaded "show me where I said that" argument. At that point it's just fun to start goofing off.

We get it, blacks are lazy and culturally corrupt

No they're oppressed by the white majority.

Gun kill people

No they don't people with guns kill people so I have to kill them first

Democrats want everything given to them

Republicans are evil.

And so on

I haven't been around lately, so I don't know all the recent nuances. But if the Country is to move forward, people need to do more reading and listening. How can we have a conversation about guns or race, if no one will take in to account what the other side has to say? There's usually a point each side has and a solution typically lies somewhere in between the two. I don't know or care who or what has led to the current state of things, but if each person will take just one step back, we as a group can all move forward.

I have heard from our current President that we need to have these conversations. I'm just trying to do my part as a humble citizen, by reading and listening to all.
