My fiancé had his interview on thur and it went really well but one of the police certificates sent to the embassy from another country he has citizenship in came back with a typo(was missing the first letter of his last name) so they could not issue him a visa that day.

Should we be worried? They told him they would contact us but in a panic he and i went to the consulate where we requested the certificate from on Friday. We were greeted by a rude ####### that made me think we should have something to worry about.

We also discover on friday that his last name has a slightly different spelling on his Greek passport- this is due to the alphabet difference. I sent a copy of his passport to embassy and now i am worried they will delay us even more or not issue us a visa all together because we never reported the the greek translation of the spelling of his last name.

does anyone have any experience with this? what will happened to our case?

I don't think you need to worry. My police cert from Ireland had the wrong birth year- I never noticed till the visa interview! Had to get it re-done and got my visa the day I handed in the revised police cert.

The different spelling COULD be an issue, but since it is due to the alphabet again I think you should be ok. You may want to include a letter explaining that though.

Thank you thank you thank you for the reply i was actually going to send you a direct email since i always see you replying on posts.

We never reported this to them do you think its to late to submit it now? I sent them a copy of the passport i just hope they don't delay us anymore.

As for the police report because it is sent directly to the embassy should we be working to get it corrected or will they check on the typo? The interview told my fiancé they needed a certification and they would reach out to him on what was next.
