How long does a tourist visa gets processed until you have the visa on hand?

4/26/2013 NOA1 email confirmation
5/02/2013 Alien number Changed
5/03/2013 NOA 1 hardcopy mailed
7/10/2013 Transfered to Local USCIS for processing
7/22/2013 Address was changed relating to the I129F
7/26/2013 RFE hard copy received
7/29/2013 RFE mailed back
8/02/2013 CFO passed!
8/07/2013 NOA 2!!!
8/10/2013 NOA2 hardcopy received
8/19/2013 Shipped to NVC
8/23/2013 MNL case number provided over the phone
8/23/2013 NVC shipped packet to Embassy
8/27/2013 Paid Visa Fee
8/27/2013 Case Status "Ready" USEM
8/30/2013 NVC letter hardcopy received
9/11/2013 Case Status Updated "Ready" USEM
9/19/2013 Medical Passed!!!
10/18/2013 Visa Appointment USEM ----- Visa Approved!

When my friend applied for one, she got her visa after 3 working days.

Feb. 2013 - First conversation ( we met through a friend )
Mar 26, 2013 - First meeting in person, Manila
April 06, 2013 - He went back to US
April 15, 2013 - I-129F sent to USCIS
April 17, 2013 - I-129F delivered
April 19, 2013 - NOA1
April 23, 2013 - Alien Registration Number was changed
June 17, 2013 - Second Visit
July 31,2013 - RFE
August 06, 2013 - Return to US
August 08, 2013 - RFE reply sent. ( next day delivery service)
August 09, 2013 - RFE response received
August 13, 2013- APPROVED!
12nn - Received an email from Representative Staff that our petition is approved already. ( w/ email from USCIS officer )
8pm - Received email confirmation about the approval & Online Status Updated.
August 14,2013- got my BC & Cenomar ( waited 5mins for BC & almost 1 1/2hr for Cenomar)
August 15, 2013 - got my NBI ( total processing time from step 1 to releasing 1 1/2hrs)
August 23,2013 - CFO Attended, Got GCC. Sticker to follow.
Sep 18, 2013 - Got MNL Case # via Phone & Paid Visa Fee @ BPI
Sept 23, 2013 - Medical PASSED - 1 Day Only

Sep 24, 2013 - Case status " READY"
Oct 07, 2013 - Interview - APPROVED
Oct 08,2013 - Status changed AP then ISSUED

Oct 10, 2013 - Status @ 2go site - HOLD for Pick up

Oct. 16, 2013 - US Entry @ LAX

Oct. 18, 2013 - Printed I-94

Oct. 29,2013 - Applied Marriage License & SSN
Nov. 25, 2013 - Wedding @ San Diego

It depends on d embassy/consulate. It could take anywhere frm same day to 5 business days.

GOD has been WONDERFUL!!!
CR-1 (for Husband):
09/15/2012: Got Married
09/26/2012: Mailed I-130 from Nigeria( delayed by customs)
USCIS stage ( 66 days)
10/12/2012: NOA 1
12/17/2012: NOA 2 (case was transferred to NYC office 11/27/12)
NVC stage ( 20 days)
01/08/2013: Case # and IIN assigned ( file arrived NVC mail room 12/20/12)
01/09/2013: AOS invoiced and paid, DS-3032 emailed and mailed.
01/16/2013: IV invoiced &paid. AOS & IV mailed in one package(arrived 01/18).
01/28/2013: Case complete!!!
04/19/2013: Interview; APPROVED!!!!!
05/13/2013: POE; JFK

N-400: (3 months and 12 days)
Filed N-400 : 2011-06-17
Interview: 2011-09-27
Oath Ceremony: 2011-09-30

IR-5 for Mom Entire process took 5 months exactly
USCIS (22days)
mailed I-130 : 2011-09-30
NOA 1: 2011-10-03 (text & email)
NOA 2: 2011-10-25 (text and email)
NVC: (19 days)
Case entered and # assigned: 2011-11-18
NVC Case COMPLETED: 2011-12-07 ( 43 days from NOA 2 and 65 days from NOA 1)
Interview Date(Lagos): 2012-01- 23 Mom was late for interview
New Interview date: 2012-02-29 : VISA APPROVED

I mean from the day you applied for tourist visa plus the interview date plus the days till it gets approved. Only 5 days? Really? Wow thats fast.

Or do u just mean 5 days after the interview you got the visa?

You can apply anytime you want.( no medical required) As long as you have the money to pay for the visa fee and of course be prepared for documents like ITR and other financial documents proving a strong ties here in Phils.

When I scheduled first week of January, the date for interview was one month after so that's feb...I got the visa 5 days after the interview since it was approved.
