i got a request for additional evidence/information notification by checking the case status of our petition online. does anyone know how long this typically delays the approval of a K1 petition? thanks for any feedback or relaying your own experiences with this most unwelcome delay... :( our petition is filed at the cal. service center, if this makes any difference.

peace

In general from reading other posts on RFE's .......once you receive it and return the requested information, a petition is often approved within 1-3 weeks on average. It all depends on where they are at in the process. RFE's are not all that bad when you look at it from the point of view 'you know they are working on your file' All the best for an approval real soon.

that is good news, i was afraid it would put us back into limbo again. thanks a.w. :)

Just keep in mind, although not a common thing.......the timeframe for an approval can be much longer if one is in security checks limbo, hence why I said it depends on where one is in the process with their petition. What I gave was a general rule of thumb  Unfortunately nothing in this whole immigration process is a sure fire thing.

It took about 2 weeks for us to be approved after they received our evidence. We were stuck in Nebraska for 200 days....so for us an RFE was awesome news....we knew that they were working on our case at last!!!

Hope it is a quick fix for you....good luck
