My wife came here on a K1 visa and we married within the 90 days. Is there any way to file to get permission to go outside the country for a trip before the AOS takes place? My friend wants to fly us to the bahamas and although it's a private plane and we won't hit immigrations I still would like to be on the safe side. We've done it boating before and left the US but a plane ups the risks. Also if there is something I'm assuming it will be much faster than AOS?

Even private planes that have had wheels down in a foreign country are required to have their passengers report through immigration. The answer is no. And to leave and come back like that without reporting to immigration throws more "crimes" against you.

if you filed the big AOS set, including EAD and AP documents, then (IMO) is best to chase down those documents.

You must file for AOS in order to file for AP. So, follow this guide, send in the I-485, I-765 and I-131 at the same time. She cannot leave without AP or the green card, although technically she is not even eligible anymore since you admitted she left the US by boat already. http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1k3aos

Wait time for AP after filing is 2-3 months. Your trip is not an emergency, so there would be no expedite.
