Hey,

I recently moved to Bosnia from Libya (due to the war), and had a Serbian Passport. I'm 17 and when I was 16 I applied for a Tourist visa (to go with a friend) for the US, and I said I'd go to 4 different cities, and been denied (I was planning to come back), and now It's my final year in school and I have a Bosnian passport (I guess it's a plus?). Now I'd like to go to the US (2 cities) with a friend, to check the universities , and decide which is better, like a tour, and check the city etc.

I'd really love to check those 2 Unis/Cities out before making my final decision, but the only differene from when I was denied before, and now, is that I have a Bosnian passport (I'm Bosnian).

In the previous visa request, I've made a mistake by deciding that we will go to 4 cities, and he was 18 and I was 16, and I accidentally said "yes if I can get a visa" when she said do I plan to stay and work in the US after Finishing Uni.

She was like "well are you aware that in the US for hotels you need to be 21 or above, or even 24", this is not really true, I've checked and there are hotels which are 18+....

Really would love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks

All you can do is apply for the visitor visa and hope for the best.

The denial last year will impact your application.

The more denials you collect, the harder it will be for you to get a student visa. The US Embassy will suspect that you are desperate to get to the US.

The fact that you stated you would want to stay in the US after finishing university is a giant red flag for the student visa. Student visa applicants must show a home to return to after finishing school. Your statement of desire to stay in the US contradicts this requirement.

It doesn't matter that you are switching from the Serbian passport to the Bosnian passport. You are required to disclose any visa denial.

I think then it's best to just choose a Uni, without going to the US. If it's bad, do a college transfer.

When the person asks why I was denied (when I am applying for student visa), I was thinking to say "I was underage and wanted to go to 4 cities in the US with a friend".

I can prove all funds etc, I do have an apartment here in Bosnia, and that's it. In libya we don't have a house, but my father works and has a registered company (and only Libyans can have a lybian passport)... kinda hard situation.
