That's good advise. I am going to have KFC and Chowking waiting for her.

Mine was disappointed, and does not like US KFC, says PI KFC is better (though I cannot imagine how). She DOES like Popeyes chicken though, go figure...

Wife here likes Thai food, pizza, Mexican (real Mexican), Carl's jr, In-n-Out Burger, and pancakes. BTW, it is hard to find "green sour fruits". The Filipino papayas are grown in Ecuador, and not too bad, the Mexican ones she doesn't care for. She likes cherries, grapes, navel oranges, and ruby red grapefruit. For vegetables, its green beans, carrots, okra, spinach, red bell peppers, and sweet potatoes. I buy shrimp when it goes on special for $5 a pound, tilapia, salmon, chicken, and pork. And there is the weekly trip to the Asian store for things like spring roll wrappers, pepper leaves, rice noodles, and frozen bananas.

Are you sure you are not half American? From your menu you eat like you have lived in the west. I like your choices as I like mushrooms with steak and steamed asparagus and omg love garlic.

My sweetie a few months ago gave up on rice (maybe once awhile but not every meal or everyday like before) she is like you and enjoys fruits and veggies (green leafy). Her children still eat rice so we will have it here.

BTW, have a safe trip and don't become a stranger here at VJ.

Hahahaha..... I am pure blooded Filipina! I stayed in Abu Dhabi, UAE for less than 7 years. During my 2nd year I gained 5kg.!!! For eating Jasmin rice. So I decided to gradually remove rice in my diet, ain't easy but it was doable. It was easier because I live alone, I can buy and cook what I wanted. My Fiance was amazed, I can almost eat anything EXCEPT Indian food.... sorry... too spicy for me. I love Greek, Arabic or Mediterranean food. Started to love Italian spaghetti sauce "No Sugar please", olives, etc. inspired and thought by my American bro in law. He's so picky doesn't eat Filipino food but he's one of the best bro-in-law because I have 2nd best my bro in law from Batangas =).

Actually I questioned my Fiance if he is really American!!! hahaha... He's choice of food is very limited! And he don't eat Mushroom =(. I love cooking, it's been my passion, not an expert but willing to learn new things. Allrecipe.com has been my guide, through the comments the food or recipe improves. Oh don't get me going about cookin' I won't stop!!! hahahaha

Oh I fell in LOVE with VJ the moment I laid my eyes on it hhahahaha.... Love the people!!! I really appreciate everyone!!!

God bless!!!!

Things to do before she arrives:

1. Get rid of the "hehehe" laugh because it's how Filipinas laugh. It's not a guy-thing.

2. Don't switch your laugh to "jijiji" because that's how a Filipina jejemon laughs.

and don't say HUN all the time it's a hard habit to break

Besides making sure she has had an uneventful trip, has all her bags, isn't hungry - the first thing I will do is drive her home and then:

Is she tired or wired?
