Track your Packet from NVC to US Embassy Manila

I was reading on different sites a useful thread that showed how you can track your packet from NVC to USEM. This method is not fool proof but it can give you a general idea. I am using my Packet as an example but you can input your information as you see fit.

1. Go to the DHL Website: http://www.dhl-usa.com/en/express/tracking/shippers_reference.html

2. Using the details provided from NVC, use the date that your case left NVC. Using mine as example August 13, 2013 I enter the reference format as EXP 13 AUG 2013A and it is necessary to use the spaces like the example. Follow the exact format as the sample but using your date.

3. You may need to play the date range to get the result and then hit the track button. My package had left on the fourteenth but I had to use Aug 13th in the date range to see the package. I don't know why it is like this but it is.

Press the TRACK button and the result should show you the package sent from the NVC on that certain date. Remember to put the exact location to where your interview will take place. Our interview will be in Manila and therefore using Manila as the "shipment destination" I was able to find my shipment.

Good luck!

He doesn't know, he only knows "A" package has been shipped to Manila and there are hundreds done very day. That has been brought up a number of times here on VJ but there is no accuracy for tracking one's file being shipped to Manila.

The email requesting the MNL # from NVC is a pretty good way to know when it has shipped as NVC won't reply with the MNL # until the file has shipped.

Best was of doing things is don't schedule things so "tight" that it's a concern, give a month between getting the MNL # and completing the interview, then there is no need to worry about the file arriving in time.

Perhaps I'm missing something, but how do you know it is your case and not someone else's?

As Hank_ stated there is no 100% knowledge that your document is contain therein as you can see from my example there are three packets contained in that one shipment.

I can only assume that one of them is ours. When I check the CEAC website tomorrow or the next day I should be able to confirm that they have accepted this package and putting two and two together then this COULD be a true indication that our packet was contained in this shipment. Again, this is not 100% because it doesn't list the names of the packets contained within the shipment, only a GUESS.

This whole process is intriguing and that's why we try to make something that seems complex, simple or for some of us, simple into complex rofl.gif .

Anyways have fun with it but you can't take it to the bank.

Yeah, there is definitely a buffer on our part, with our interview not being until October 2 and her leaving in December. It took about 2 weeks for hers to go from being shipped to her status as "ready" for interview at the embassy. I imagine it will probably be the same after the interview before she gets her visa in hand, given the AP time people are getting lately.

It took two weeks after the interview for my wife to get her visa, but we weren't in a rush either and didn't leave for another month + after that.

Just remember the visa validity will be tied to the date of the medical, so don't do the medical too far in advance. There was a couple on here a year or so ago that had some delays (maybe the sputum testing, don't remember) and missed clearing POE by a day... big oops there!

Yes, we are aware of that 6 month date from the medical. She had her medical done July 31. If she arrives at the end of December, per our plan, it will have been 5 months, yet still 2 months away from the interview in case they take their time in AP, so we are still good.

Has anyone heard of a case where someone got their MNL case number by calling the NVC, then turned right around and scheduled an Embassy interview appointment, only to discover that their petition packet hadn't arrived in Manila in time for the interview?

Yes... there was one here on VJ not all that long ago, they had to reschedule. The CO had their file in the computer but not the physical file so he said they can't do the interview until it arrives.

We are doing the medical first week in Sept and then the interview at the end of Oct. So we have plenty of time for both NVC and SLEC to submit their paperwork to the USEM. Once she receives her approved visa then she/kids will fly to USA so counting on Mid Nov. Everything in our schedule is flexible so I have no need to panic. All thanks to reading everyone's experience.

That is on VJ that I read of in Manila, which is what a drop in the bucket compared to all that go through USEM?

Well I am sure bugman could have made two (I think is having issues posting right now)... thankfully not too many people are really stupid and rush things to that extreme.
