I have tried to contact the delhi embassy via email - i NEVER get a response - even when following intsruction to enter subject "Request for Specific Information"

i also tried calling them and i always get a busy signal. WHne it does ring.......noone answers.

anyone ahve the secret to getting through to them!

THing is that we filed the I130 at Delhi EMbassy but we didnt get a case number. SO i called today to see if the embassy had our case yet (finally got through after 3 days!)........they wanted the case number. When i told them i didnt have it, they said - you must have it. How did everyone else get the case number?

Although they did end up checking via name and birthdate for me......they said the case had not reached them. Its been since Nov 17th, should i be worried that i dont have a case number? should i be worried it hasnt reached?

i really want him to have a january interview..............wahhhhhhhhhhh :-(

This won't work for a DCF case (I don't *think*!) as they're not in the usual system.

But, you just made me think.. I wonder if the DOS phone line would have any info for you? Since Delhi is a USCIS Field Office... I don't know, it's a long shot.

Sam:

I dont have experience dealing with Delhi embasssy...However, if the issue still hasn't resolved, I have one suggestion.

Contact the Delhi CIS office where you filed the I-130 and asked them about the status of your case such as whether it has been approved and forwarded to delhi embassy or not. Their email is CIS.Ndi@dhs.gov and I am sure they will respond you. (I got reply back from them within a day!!). Once you know, based on their response, than you can talk to delhi embassy accordingly.

Hope this helps....good luck

Raj

I submitted my I-130 on Dec 4. I did not get a case number, but my understanding was that they were going to call the phone number given on the back of the receipt with it when it was available. This seems pretty hokey (my phone is not available 80% of the time), so hopefully its either not required or we can get it another way. Do let me know if you figure out what to do. My case is being forwarded to Mumbai.

BTW, 90 day stay was a strict requirement and FRRO was a "nice-to-have", especially if the stay is just over 90 days as mine was. People without a 90 day stay were rejected.

I did get the case number

I kept emailing immigration asking them for case number

they never responded. out of the blue i get an email with case number and interview date

so - email them once a week asking if they have the case yet

include your petitioner name, benefiicaiy name, date of birth beneficiary and date of filing I130

We never got any call with our case number. i too think thier system is a bit hokey. but - when your turn is up i do think they will contact you.

what do you expect? its government!
