Funny, the data you linked from the violence policy center has 516 deaths attributed to CCW's since 2007.That's incomplete data from only 32 states, and not including Hialeah.

Once again you are wrong..The Back ground check in FL for CC is not instant..Current a back log of about 90 days. Here-let me pull a link out of my butt also. In addition to the back ground check the applicant has to be finger printed so that hey can be run thru the FBI database..

Hialeah is on the NW side of, well, Miami. It's right by the airport. So unless the guy went out of his way to go to Orlando to wait those 90 days you quote, chances are he didn't wait nearly that long to be cleared for a CC permit. Besides, the backlog only happened post the Newtown massacre. Not sure we know that the law abiding gun owner obtained his conceal carry permit only this year.

No comprehensive data exists on non-self defense killings by private citizens legally allowed to carry concealed handguns. Concealed Carry Killers offers examples from May 2007 to the present of such incidents, which are taken from news reports and the limited state data available. These examples are only an unknown fraction of the unreported number of similar incidents that routinely occur across the nation.

If you read the data you linked to, it doesn't include the recent murders in Hialeah. The data stops at June 2013, so it would be something if they had murders from July 2013 in there.

Why doesn't anyone post some actual numbers showing how many murders are committed by those legally carrying concealed? The anti gun crowd loves to jump on a shooting where legal concealed carry is involved but always fails to provide any hard statistics to back it up. It's always some obscure blog, etc. What does the FBI or Department of Justice say?
