Teddy wrote that the weapon can kill multiple people in a matter of seconds. Not that it took seconds to get the gun.

But don't let reading get in your way.

Maybe you need a course in reading. Starting with the personal attacks early today aren't you?

Read and feel silly..

Here is his sentence"

"Give a person the weapon to kill multiple people in a matter of seconds"

The subject is weapon,,the sub clause in a matter of seconds, The Verb is Give

The Subject is gun, The verb is Give, the qualifying clause is matter of seconds

I can't speak for MBD, but I would like to see mental competency tests for the gun owner and background checks for the people residing in their household, paid for by the potential gun owner. At least a 2 day or maybe 4 day training course. The gun owner should have to pass both a written exam and a shooting proficiency test, no pass, no gun. 7 hours is simply not enough time to give a person a weapon with the capability to kill many people and send him on his way. Do we give our military their weapons on a Monday morning and send them out to battle on Monday afternoon?

No more +1s for today. :(

There was no personal attack. You must be imagining things again.

"Give a person the weapon to kill multiple people in a matter of seconds" is not saying that they are given the weapon in a matter of seconds.

The person is being given the weapon. The weapon is what can kill people in a matter of seconds. That's what he meant. I thought it was clear, but I've learned to never assume that what's obvious to me is obvious to others as well.

Telling people they can't read is a personal attack and you are the queen of mean

The sentence clearly says that it is the weapon that is being given in a matter of seconds---Sorry

Queen of Mean. Nice, I like it.

The sentence doesn't clearly say that, but I believe that YOU believe it does. And we all know that what you believe matters more than actual reality.

Rolling your eyes is a personal attack. Please just accept that what you said isn't what you meant and that other people know better. yes.gif

I have no doubt he meant what he meant.Truly

I am also telling you the sentence as constructed, clearly states the gun is being given in a matter of seconds.

The only reason I brought it up is because you accused me of not being able to read, basically calling me an idiot by any other name.

I just pointed out that the sentence with the Verb modifying the Noun, and the sub clause qualifying the action,, the grammar infers the gun was given in a matter of seconds.

I am sure Teddy knows what he meant , I would be crazy to assert he did not.

Often, and I am the King of it, people write one thing and mean another. Now you wasted no time,in jumping in a subject, that was not about you, so you could attack me, as usual, then deny it. Carry on

Telling someone they did not read something properly is not a personal attack. If it is, it's said 50 times a day here. So no big deal.
