I am trying to figure out how long it is taking Guangzhou to deliver visa's after interview appointment. With the Consulate closed for a bit in July there was a little void of people getting interviews, but Since August they are back and I wanted to check the timeline. My info: Interview August 12, Visa "Issued" per ceac.state.gov on August 15. Our delivery location is Citic in Guangzhou near old Consulate. Thanks in advance!

Fred

Ouch, not good news for me. So I'm thinking you had your interview on or around the 5th of August. When did you status change to "Visa Issued" on DoS website? Also, on CGI Stanley is the passport still listed as "Your passport is still with post"? Thanks for the update.

6th actually. But might as well be 2 weeks as I'm sure it won't be back tomorrow.

Status never changed, still says "Administrative Processing" last updated on the 16th.

Yes, with the CGIS site it still says "with post."

I'll post if anything changes. Thanks for the reply.

Hi Darnell!

We're in the same boat. Here's an email I'm composing...

Dear CGI Stanley,

My fiance's visa application was approved on August 6th and she received her "white slip", saying "Congratulations! Your visa has been approved!".. But, even after 2 weeks, her status is still showing "Administrative Processing", according to this website: https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx. Even the website says this..."If your visa application is approved, it will be processed and mailed or available within two business days. ".I have attached a copy of her "white slip", so you can see it. If you cannot see the following image, I also attached it as a file.
<image>
Her interview and approval was on Tuesday, Aug 6th. But the interview officer did not notice that she had not yet signed the DS-156. She was told not to sign this until she is in the presence of the interview officer. But they both forgot she needed to sign it. I feel this was the officer's oversight, as much as my fiance's oversight. So, she received an email on the 8th to come back to the embassy on the 13th to sign her DS-156. She did this, so her status has returned to "approved" as of Aug 13th. But her status is still showing "Administrative Processing", according to this website: https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx. I fear her visa application package and passport are still in the "221(g)" category or stack. Please check this for us. Her application should now be in the approved category or stack. There is nothing left to process except to issue her visa.
We have met and made many friends in this process who are also K1 fiance visa applicants. All of them (except one other <David> and us) have already had their visa status changed to "Issued".

Hang in there, Davey !

I suggest anyone and everyone having any sort of problem whatsoever with 'that interface' between cgi stanley and GUZ IV keep emailing GUZ at the GUZ IV email webform, over at

http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn//immigrant-visa-unit-question.html

I hope that if everyone emails about the problems, some bright boy inside the new Consolidated Consulate Compoud will actually take notice.

And do something.

Yes, hang in there Davey! I am so sorry to hear about any issues follow VJers are having. I am so on a roller coaster waiting and couldn't image how I would feel with some of the delays that have popped up on this site the past few days. It is a process and rightfully so the Gov has some due diligence involved. Hang in there everyone!

Truth be told I have already bought the ticket and been blessed so far. I just checked and my passport status has moved!

Passport Status : Passport has been received from the consular section, and is currently being processed for delivery

Hey Fred,

When is your flight? I think our fiance's Visas are being processed side by side as ours was also approved on Aug 15, and our Passport just changed to being processed for delivery as well.

Our flight is booked for Aug 28th. So hopefully all goes well for both of us!

Rob

Both of your interview dates were over a week after mine and your status changed already. I don't understand the logic behind anything at this at CGIS. So frustrated right now!!!!!!ranting33va.gif

Darnell, I contacted the Consulate last night through the webform, not holding my breath but worth a shot. Hopefully as you said someone will see it and do something about it.

I also contacted my friendly Congresswoman's office this morning and gave them all the Gorey details. I hope that has a better chance of working.

Anybody know if there's a status past "Passport has been received from the consular section, and is currently being processed for delivery"?

I'm just wondering how many more steps before the actual mail.
