Good evening all,

My fiancé will be CDJ next week in order to attend to get interview.

I have a question, as far as her vaccines, she has had them all but she can't find her vaccinations' record.

Can she have the vaccines done in CDJ or before we AOS?

She is in her late 20s and I wonder how many shots she will need not counting the flu shot (since her AOS will be during the flu season)

Thanks all

Chances are they(CDJ) would not have honored those records even if she had them, You can get the shots there during the medical.

Unfortunately CDJ does not tend to give vaccinations at the K-1 medical, nor even bother to look at your vaccination record. They give vaccinations for those applying for a spousal visa, but not for a K-1. They typically hand you a blank DS-3025, or no DS-3025 at all. That means you will need to find a civil surgeon in the US to transcribe your vaccinations onto an I-693. it can be a hassle to find one that won't insist on a whole new medical, so you will most likely have call around to a few. IF they happen to offer the vaccinations at the K-1 medical(unlikely, but heard it has rarely happened), then jump at that chance and get them all done then and marked off on the DS-3025 so you do not have worry about the civil surgeon and I-693 once in the US.

You can get the vaccinations in Mexico where they would be free or at least cheaper, if not given at the medical. Bring the records with you to the civil surgeon in the US, with an English translation may be helpful. You need one in a series of MMR, Tdap or TD, varicella (or history of the chickenpox), and a flu shot (only during flu season). Here is the chart for vaccinations required for AOS by age > http://www.cdc.gov/immigrantrefugeehealth/exams/ti/civil/vaccination-civil-technical-instructions.html#tbl1

Hi,

Thanks for replying.

I wonder, what's the difference between having those shots done in CDJ versus by a approved general surgeon in the US?

Not sure what you mean. As I stated above, IF you were able to get them at the K-1 medical, then you would have them marked off on the DS-3025 and not need to see a civil surgeon for an I-693 in the US. When you file for AOS, you would just need to send a copy of your DS-3025.

Hi there Kay,

Thanks for the information.

I did not intend to mislead you but we posted around the same time, as my question was directed at Aluk since she was the only one who had replied to my post.

My fiancee will ask at the CDJ clinic whether they could administer her the vaccines.

Thanks for the help.

Well my fiancé and her 2 year old will fly to Juarez tomorrow night Please keep us in your prayers.

Question is that her foto and fingerprints is at noon. Can she take her child to get her medical first thing in the AM and assume she can make the noon for fingerprint ?

Most likely. You go early in the morning for the medical and get out of there in a few hours, You need to go back later in the afternoon to get the medical results, well for a K-1. The K-2 takes longer for the medical results since they require the TB test. Never had experience with a K-2 medical, but seems feasible to make the noon appointment. The ASC is next to the consulate and the medical clinics are nearby too.

Perhaps someone that did a K-2 medical before will come along and give you a more accurate answer.

How risky would it be to have a medical perform (K1) a day before my fiancee's scheduled interview at the CDJ consulate?

Thanks in advance

Will she be able to receive her results on time?

Not risky at all. A K-1 gets their medical results back the same day and then you hand carry that sealed envelope with your results to the interview. Many people do it the day before.

A K-2 has to get the exam at least 4 days before the interview.

Does she need to bring these additional documents to her appointment?

Letter of Intent to Marry

My original certificate of naturalization

Would you she need to bring unsigned copies of DS-156 and DS-156K forms?

Why do they need to be unsigned?

As I answered already in another thread I would not send your originals through the mail. Provide a copy for the interview. It should be good enough. I know others have used copies only.

No need for new letters of intent for CDJ.

Of course she needs the DS forms that are required. You do not sign them because they need to be signed in front of them at the consulate. http://photos.state.gov/libraries/ciudadjuarez/231771/PDFs/packetk1may.pdf
