I have submitted the whole I-130 package (including I-485, I-864, I-765, AP, etc.)
I just got a letter in the mail saying:

'Submit a completed and signed Form I-864 for the petitioner/sponsor listed on Form I-130 [...] Also provide copies of the petitioner/sponsor's most recent Federal Income tax returns.
If you have submittec Form I-864, the version you submitted is no longer accepted."

Does anyone have any idea why they did not accept the I-864 we submitted? Can it be because my wife (sponsor) does not meet the threshold? But in that case, wouldn't they ask for more financial evidence instead of having us filing the whole thing again?

Also: does it have any influence on getting my EAD?

I really need to start working soon if we want to pay all of our bills here!

Thanks!

Was the I-864 the latest version of the form? Did you check it the day you sent it out?
It could mean one of two things; either they lost your I-864, in which case you should resend it.
Or that want you to send copies of the recent tax returns, did you send them for all the recent years - did you send transcripts or copies of returns?

I vote that your I-864 was not correct in some way. Possibly that your tax return was not complete. We can't know because we don't know what you sent. If you tell us what you sent, we might be able to help more.

Did you check over the I-864 copy you sent, was it signed in all places, etc?

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

I just doubled checked the copies I have and indeed, it looks like we filed an older version of it (09/19/11).

Thanks for your help.

We will work on the new one this week.
