i didnt get the packet 3 yet, but my lawyer already send for this type of payment..

embassy will send me 2 emails in the same time or have different day?

Embassy will send you an email first (it's the packet 3) and you'll know what to do. The first email contains the requirements you need to prepare and the explanation. The second email is the packet 4, you'll receive it when you have all the requirements they ask.

Oh lets see, i hope i will get the appointment letter next week....thnks for sharing ur xperience.

No problem. Each country has different procedures of sending the packet 3 and packet 4. Have you request them the packet 4?? if you also in Indonesia, pm me if you need more help :)

Good luck!

Thank you everyone. I have one more question (for now) smile.png Did you make the money order out to USCIS or U.S. Department Of Homeland Security? I read you can do either but, I wanted to see which one is best. I don't want anything sent back because it was wrong. Thanks so much!!

Christie

No idea where you would have read you can make it out to either. The I-129F form instructions clearly state who to make the check out to on page 6 > http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-129finstr.pdf

If you missed the filing fee and who to address the check/money order to, then you may want to read all through the form instructions to make sure you are not missing anything else before sending off your petition.

i got email from my lawyer that i need to pay $350 to standard chartered bank or permata bank, but i know from my friend we need to pay 240$ to us embassy in jakarta when we have interview...which one is correct?

The fee used to be $350, but it changed to $240 over a year ago(April 2012). It sounds like your consulate is still using some old general email they send to everyone and never bothered to update the form letter they are sending out. http://www.state.gov/r/pa/prs/ps/2012/03/187114.htm

Cristiesalim,

What everyone is saying here is pretty much accurate, though I'm surprised no one bothered to inform you of the VISA Medical Examination Fee which will also cost you another $200+. Jay-Kay mentioned almost every fee in the book but somehow failed to mention that one..... wow.gif

So yeah, dont forget about that one too, since you will pay that before your INTERVIEW (you must pass the Medical & before being able to proceed to interview).

The fees stated here in this thread were all accurate, not 'pretty much'. I listed the visa processing fee and all the form filing fees. The OP was confused between the form filing fee and the visa processing fee. No one asked about medical fees(which vary from country to country) or any other fees that one needs throughout this process. That list is even longer, such as fees for courier mailing of documents, plane tickets, hotel rooms, etc.
