I-129F Letter of Intent

I'm new to this site and have been trying to get familiar with the procedures of the I-129F Petition process.

Me and my fiance who lives in Mexico are working on all documents needed, however, one question that I can't find an answer to is: Do the Letters of Intent to marry upon on my fiance's entry to the US have to be notarized? Any help will much appreciated, thanks!

To file the I-129F with USCIS they do NOT need to be notarized. I know that many places require them notarized if you take to long for the consulate (embassy) stage and pass the expiration of the I-129F approval (4 months past issue date), but to file for USCIS I-129F they you just need to each provide a letter of intent with your signatures on them. It is best to provide the originals as sometimes people get an RFE for sending in copies, but since you are currently together, that shouldn't be an issue.

Thank you. We aren't currently together but getting the original is no problem since I have family traveling to US soon.

I have a question about this too, What if my letter of intent is in Spanish? Does my fiancées have to be translated in English? Or just leave it in Spanish.

I would do the letter in English. Has to have original signature. Must also contain sentence like " I plan on getting married within 90 days of arriving in the USA as per K1 guidelines.

Since the paragraph stating your intent isn't but a couple of lines my fiancee's letter is both in English and Spanish, I don't see how it would hurt.

English. Anything sent to the USCIS must be in English or have an English translation to accompany it. It is much easier to just to do the letters of intent in English, then no need for a translation.

That works best and so long as he knows what he is signing, it is all good.

Either write it in Spanish and have a translation or write in in English and sign.
