From the recent trend of other cases, including mine, it takes three weeks for an approved case to be shipped to the NVC (should receive a status update about this), then about another additional week for them to receive it. Once they receive it, you should be able to get your case number by calling them.

I wouldn't call everyday, I'd suggest to wait until you receive the notification that the case was shipped, but it's up to you.

Just got off the phone NVC said they recieved my case yesterday so two weeks for them to recieve it so hope to have case number soon

If you're not in any hurry, you can twiddle your thumbs until the NVC decides to notify you.

If you want to speed up the process, start calling the NVC at the end of next week. Keep calling them every day until they give you your MNL case number. It can take as little as two weeks for the NVC to receive your petition after the USCIS approves it.

Once you have your MNL case number, you can pay the visa application fee at BPI, then schedule an interview appointment, then complete the medical. There's no need to wait for the U.S. Embassy to contact you.

I believe all VSC to TSC transfers get an email saying "we've shipped this reaffirmed or approved application to the department of state...". I would recommend starting to call after the email. You can call all you want, but the reality is that your case is still in a crate at TSC waiting to be shipped to NVC.

must we call them to get the case number? or they can notify you via email to let you know about the case number?

your case won't be mailed instantly after approval, the wait time is 2-3 weeks... keep checking your case online on the USCIS website as they will tell you when it has been sent. then you need to wait another week for it to be received then call them and they'll give you your number

It can take a couple weeks for the file from USCIS to reach NVC, after that its only waiting for the MNL # to be issued.

Like suggested, give NVC a call and I would also suggest emailing them. Info in my link for contacting NVC.
