I applied for a esta to travel to us for a family holiday for 2 wks, in September, but got refused travel, went to the us embassy London today for interview went ok lady said I was approved a visa but needed to have a medical, which I did also today whilst in London and everything ok, the bit that's confusing me is that I've got no stamp in my passport which the lady at the embassy gave back to me I don't understand any of the process can anyone help me please

Why were you refused the esta? Medicals are not usually done for tourist visas....

They may be waiting for the medical results to be sent to the embassy, and then call you either for a second interview, or to send in your passport.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

Only can think of one reason they refused my esta as I ticked yes to mental health problem

Ah, that also explains the medical.

They will probably contact you to send your passport/return to the embassy to affix the visa in it when they approve it.

2/06/13: APPROVED!
