TN visa and waiver of inadmissibility

I have been offered a job in the US recently.

According this this site:

http://www.visaplace.com/usa-immigration/tn-visa-applications.php

Getting a TN visa is fast but still has a risk of getting denied. Even though I have a secure job set up I am worried that I will not get accepted because of a past conviction of a DWI. I also read that if you are considered inadmissible you can apply for a US waiver of inadmissibility.
Even if I did get a waiver of inadmissibility would it allow me to get a TN visa? Or will I be denied a TN visa if I had to get a waiver?

If I am able to get a TN visa, which according to that site is valid for 3 years, when those 3 years are up do I have to return to Canada right away? Apparently the waivers are valid for 5 years. So could I remain in the US for a bit after I am done working?

Getting a waiver is not a pass to commit future crimes. :S

Wavier's duration does not govern on how long you can stay in US.

I-94 based on your visa governs how long you can stay in US.

A waiver of inadmissibility would allow you to get Tn status. The Tn and the waiver are both at the discretion of the USCIS officer.

Keep in mind that unless you are applying for a waiver based on hardship to a US citizen immediate relative, 15 years must have passed since the crime occurred to be eligible for the waiver.
