Mayo & Fries

I don't usually just have fries with mayo. If I use mayo, I mix it in to the ketchup. I like the mayo/ketchup mix.

I am with you!!! maybe some pepper to go with the salt . . . these days more pepper, less salt due to blood pressure issues. Fries are already a cholesterol producing food considering how they are fried up . . . why add more with some of the mayo products.

Hello I generally donnot eat or like mayo with fries...Actually I just donnot like Mayo. Mayo and Fries is all across Europe and NA. My husband just loves the stuff.... There are some flavoured mayos like chipotle mayo or wasabi mayo that just make the combo good...But i guess these added flavours take away from the mayo flavour...

It's so good but it's so hard for me to eat because I know how bad the fries are and I know how bad the mayo is so dipping fries in mayo is simply sinful!

Oh I need some reccomendations on good mayo. Not best foods or kraft, something more creamy .

Any ideas?

I reccomend a canola/olive oil mayo...very unique and smooth taste...and healthier for you...also you could try making your own mayo or ailoi Sarah

of course . . . why go to all that trouble for something that tastes bad . . . seriously, I have enough problems without adding mayo to my fries, hehe . . . . oh, what about the cheese and chili version??? Wow, indigestion for sure on top of all the fat .

Oh, I forgot to mention . . . vinegar and salt on fries!! Now where did I learn that living in the southern part of the States?? Must be one of those pseudo-fish-and-chips places AKA Long John Silvers . . . . Another place that I try to stay away from these days .

I like to dip my chips in garlic sauce, mushy peas, or curry from the Chinese. Of course with the requisite salt & malt...

Fries? just plain cos they don't blow my skirt up. Unless they're from Nathan's...cos if you close your eyes, they kinda taste like chips

I always thought fries with mayo was completely repulsive. Then when I was in Brussels they just dumped on the mayo without my asking for it. I tried it, and guess what, I still think it's completely repulsive.

Bring on the ketchup.

Oh and it's really good to dip some good salty fries into a malt. But that's probably just as bad as dipping in mayo...

Mayo and Fries, Dutch boy approves!

I prefer to put newly cut pieces of onion through the mayo, to give it a slightly more 'fresh' taste.

Any while on the topic of Mayo... here's a easy dutch recipy for a chips-dip-sauce. But it can be used for fries too!

Needed:

1 small bowl

1 fork

1 spoon

1 pot of Mayo

1 bottle of Ketchup

1 jar of mustard

What do you do:

3 spoons of Mayo (use spoon)

1 spoon of ketchup (use same spoon)

1 spoon of mustard <not too strong of one> (use fork)

Mix it well. (use fork to mix)

A nice addition is to add italian seasoning through it. Just a little. A few drops of water to make it into a whole, and only THEN add the rest. Make sure that it becomes a mass, not have water left over. Water + Mayo... does not match if you want to use it again later. (The end result can stay well for about 1 more day if you put it in the fridge)

I agree somewhat. I'll eat it on a turkey sandwich, but dip fries in it? That's gross. Mayonnaise already looks like congealed fat; do I wanna dip food in that and eat it? No.

I don't use ketchup on fries either unless they're really bad or have no salt at all.
