Immunizations...

I have my record of immunizations and the only one that I am worried about it the TD.

It says I have had TD-Tetanus/Diphtheria(Adult). I got this in March 2003

Is this the same as Tdap? and do I need another dose, since I got it 10 years ago?

If it's just TD you will probably need the TDaP which includes Pertussis unfortunately. Pertussis is whooping cough that can be a problem sometimes still.

Oh, well my record shows that I have been immunized for pertussis, last effect does 1994.

Do you think that counts?

It should count, but if the last time you got a tetanus shot was 10 years ago, it may be wise to get a new one. My doctor just gave me the TDaP as it had been over 10 years since I had a tetanus.

I agree with canada_socks. Go the health unit and get a new Dtap (or Tdap... whatever they want to call it.) It should be free.

When I had my medical I believe TDap had to be current within the last year or two in order for it to count. Not sure if it is still that way but better to be sure.
